do resorts anniversaries go by quietly?

I'll be at the WL on their anniversary - it opened 7 yrs ago this coming Nov 14th
a year later we became DVCers w/VWL as our "home"

yea - they don't celebrate the resorts unless it is also the date of a park anniversary.

Au Contraire.... A few years ago we happened to be staying at WL on their Anniversary. ( I thought until I read your post it was their 10th). They had a special cake in the shape of the Lodge done and special ceremonies with indians dancing etc all afternoon. I do not think of the 7th as a special Anniversary, however and would not anticpiate big doin's as Mickey would say. I am sure you will have fun in any event.

Well the Wilderness Lodge is now 13 years old it opened May 28, 1994, we were there May 28, 2004 for the 10th Anniversary and stayed at the Resort the whole day. They had so may special events that we enjoyed and had so much fun. Especially the blessing of the Lodge by Native Americans. The cake was delicious it was made by Chef Richard from the Grand Floridain, we were out front when they were bringing it in.

November 15, 2000 the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge opened so this will be the 7th anniversary at the Villas., so I don't think they will have a celebration yet.

I know when WDW Resorts reach a certin age there a usually pins that are sold to celebrate it.

I have 30th and 35th Anniversary pins from the Contemporary.

30th and 35th Anniversay from the Polynesian.

10th Anniversary from the Wilderness Lodge which was a surprise pin.

10th Anniversary from the Boardwalk.

10th Anniversay from Corondao Springs.

10th Anniversay from All Star Sports and All Star Music.

15th Anniversary of the Beach Club.

15th Anniversary of Port Orleans.

5th Anniversay of the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

ya know I just double checked the disney calendar I bought from disney and it does say Disney's Wilderness Lodge Nov 14 2000
it doesnt say VILLAS but thanks for the clarification

I have a tenth anniversary pin from the GF - I got it with a purchase in the gift shop at the time of their tenth anniversary.

I thought the opening was in May, because we stayed there when it first opened, and we used to always take vacation time in May. I still have the opening day pin they handed out when we checked in.

I didn't realize the Villas had been there that long. It seems like they were just built!
