Do pools matter in February?

We're planning a trip to DW arriving February 11. We're trying to pick from the deluxe hotels. I'd love to stay at the GF, but have heard how wonderful the Beach and Yacht Club hotels are because of Stormalong Bay. Can you swim in February in Orlando, or should we just forget about what the pools are like and consider the convenience of being on the monorail system. Thanks for any help.

According to historical weather patterns, the average high in February is 73. The thing is, you never know for sure. We have always gone November - March and have always swam. But we're from Michigan so if it even gets close to 70 in winter it's bikini weather for us!

It really does depend on what the weather is like when you're there and your personal preferences. The pools are all heated, so the water won't be uncomfortably cold. That's enough for some people to go swimming regardless of the outside temperature. But the air outside the pool could still be pretty chilly, especially if it's windy that day. If you live in the South and aren't used to going swimming unless it's at least 90, you probably won't really want to try the pool.

The WDW resort pools are heated to a nice and toasty 85 degrees (or there abouts.) It's when you get out that you get chilled!

A nice pool is a very important part of our vacation at WDW! You'll be surprised at how many people will be in the pool!

We were in WDW 2/02 and didn't swim at all. It was too cold for us. :)

We historically go the last week in Feb and found the weather can be anything. Last year, COLD. Year before, HOT. Year before that, perfect. It would be tough to make a judgement on resort by pool at that time year.

I think Storm along Bay's slide is going down for rehab soon so you may want to check into that before you book. My kids still swim in February unless it freezing.

We were at ASMo from Feb9-16 this year...we swam every night, and some nights were in the pool til 11pm.....kinda chilly getting out, but it did not bother us one bit.

We usually go to WDW around President's week and the kid's have never missed a day of swimming. We even hit a water park once during our stay. We pick the warmest day according to the weather forecast. There is never a crowd.

I have my fingers crossed for warm weather when we are there 2/6-2/18! I've gotta be in the guitar pool a few times!
