I think I read a few times that people would write crued messages on your white board.

But, how is this possible on a "Disney" cruise?

Please don't tell me this is the case. I would hate to come back to our cabin with something not-so-nice written.

stuff like that would be done by kids - mostly teens - it's random... I've never had a problem...

If you are using it to have people from your cabin leave you messages... then hang it on the inside of your door... otherwise... post it notes are a good idea too... :)

Yeah, I'm sure it does happen. My friend brought some old Disney magnets that someone had bought for her daughter years ago at WDW because she didn't make any of her own but wanted to put a couple on the door so her kids could easily recognize it. By the time we came back from dinner the 1st night, they were gone. She was so bummed. The room hostess said it happens often unfortuately. Kids think it's fun to steal the magnets and put them on other peoples doors. So I'm sure they've also been known to leave "not so pleasant" messages on those boards as well.

have had white board for 3 years in a row. 1st time I did it I was on deck two mid ship right near the elevators, lots of passerbys. Never had any bad comments. But did get good ones. Don't worry about the comments, it really come in handy, we wrote notes to the other guest walking by. Hoping their cruise was as wonderful as our. We hung it on the door with the 3M removable hooks. We decorated our white board with disney memory book items... It was good fun

Yep. We just had it done last weekend. Our board wasn't up for even an hour before they write on it. We hadn't even left port! I saw other boards they had written on too. Some people just have to be ...well, insert your favorite desriptive word here. I took my board down as they kept doing it. We were on deck 8 too so FAR fewer people just randomly walking down the halls. Yet, we still managed to find the jerks. :sad2:

Also... if you make magnets for your door... personalize them somehow... they will disappear less often...

also... put your name and room number on the back with a silver magic marker...

There was a erase board down the hall from us and I never saw anything inappropriate at all. However, one of our magnets was taken, a picture of our youngest daughter. That did creep me out. After that went missing, I removed the rest of our magnets that had any of our pictures on it.

As a FE gift someone put in magnet letters on our door, that spelt out our names, each night kids, of early teens would change the letters around to rude words. They did this at every opportunity, overnight, breakfast, morning and night, my son actually sat down outside our room, saw them and showed us who they were latter.

In the end we took them down, as it was too silly. Kids will be kids but this was too far, and parents should know what their kids are doing.

What happened to the jerks? If you found your missing magnets on another door, what's the best way to get them back?

Alert Cm or
just take them off the door or
Knock talk to an adult:confused3

Yip, that would creep me out too.

Some folk/kids just cant leave anything alone.

We had a white board and magnets on our cruise a couple weeks ago and had no problems. My daughter wrote a different message on the board every day. "Aarrgh...tonight is Pirate Night", "Ahoy, St. Croix", "See you at the Golden Mickeys" etc. We bought one from Target for $1 and hanged it over the fish decoration. Our room was on the 6th deck near the elevators and we saw lots of people looking at our door, but thankfullly nothing ever happened.

Yes, some people cannot leave things alone and they do not understand that someone has paid for that, or its part of their vacation, and it will cause some upset. In my personal experience we were on Deck 8, and were aware that the parents knew, but they did not do anything.

I think pre cruise parents and kids must have an agreement what is acceptable and what isn't. People have paid a lot of money for a nice vacation small little things like this can eat away at that overall great experience and it just should occur.

We had this happen when we were travelling with our 13YO niece last summer. It is pitiful how nasty some kids can be. We didn't put one on our door this last time and only put on one magnet with our names and the cruise date on it. I think it's so disappointing because you really do feel "at home" on a Disney cruise. So much so that once I found myself wearing my slippers to "pirates life for me"!

We had a mini scottish flad outside our room, no one touched it.:confused3
Too scared in case we ran after them with our kilts on:lmao:

We had our Mickey ears (around the cabin number sign) stolen a few times. Once I found them on a cabin door just a few doors down from us. Now I don't know if that person stole them or some other people just decided to move them to a different door but either way....I took them back!!!

We have also had magnets stolen. Now, I do not put anything I would miss too dearly on the door.

We had Mickey ears moved on our last cruise....usually just one of them and would find it on a random door down the hall. I'd just take it and put it back.

Haven't had anything inappropriate written on our dry erase boards.

.

You guys have me more worried than ever. I guess I'll be prepared for stolen magnets and inappropiate things written on our board.

Good idea to put our names and room number on the back of magnets, thanks!

Don't we worried, and go go ahead, the percentage incidence of this is small, but worth posting so parents can be aware and take action and as you say record your stateroom number of stuff.

We didn't have anything inappropriate written on our dry erase board, but it sure came in handy when our two mickey magnets were taken off our door. When I discovered them missing I wrote on the board: "whoever took our mickey magnets, could you please put them back?" Thinking we would never see them again, (I had to try) we were pleasantly surprised at their return to our door when we got back from dinner that night!! So I then wrote on the board "thank you!".
