I have been seeing a lot of hype for Marvel's The Thunderbolts which is opening in theaters May 2nd and in my eyes I think Marvel is expecting lots of high praise for this film. But I also think The Thunderbolts will be in the same boat as Marvel's Eternals but I do think when it opens it will score high ratings much the same as Deadpool And Wolverine or Guardians Of The Galaxy. But I will predict Hasbro and Bleacher Creatures will have The Thunderbolts merchandise before the film debuts in theaters because people do love new merchandise based on new Marvel movies. What actors will be in Marvel's The Thunderbolts? Because the preview trailer doesn't say who will star in the movie

I think Marvel will expect The Thunderbolts to do well because it's about that Marvel has another hit movie besides last year's success of Deadpool and Wolverine and judging from the trailer The Thunderbolts just might be what the doctor ordered for Marvel. Because after the stellar ratings for Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Captain America Brave New World Doctor Strange Multiverse Of Madness and the failure of Eternals it's time for Marvel to get back on the horse they have fallen off of and return to making great movies and The Thunderbolts might be the ticket to success

I also think The Thunderbolts will have competition with The Minecraft Movie when The Thunderbolts opens in theaters because when two movies are hits they'll get double the people in the theater. Marvel probably thinks that The Thunderbolts will be like The Guardians Of The Galaxy and if it does well they will most likely have The Thunderbolts 2 in the works next. But basically they hope it will be as successful as Deadpool And Wolverine

Judging by the hype I think Marvel is gonna have a high praised hit with The Thunderbolts because when I was listening to Pandora they had a radio commercial for The Thunderbolts and it tells me that Marvel really is betting that all hopes will rise on The Thunderbolts because it might be a summer hit much like Deadpool and Wolverine was last year. Because as I mentioned earlier don't be surprised if The Thunderbolts II will be in development

Marvel must be banking on hope for The Thunderbolts because they sure are having a lot of commercials for it so that means that it will indeed see rave reviews upon it's first week in theaters. Is The View gonna be having some of the stars of The Thunderbolts this week as well? Because my mother was telling me that actor Jeremy Renner is gonna appear on The View? Is Jeremy also starring in The Thunderbolts too? But however it goes I think Marvel is expecting The Thunderbolts to be a strong hit because after failures like Eternals and Thor Love And Thunder and Ant-Man 3 The Thunderbolts might just be Marvel's next movie franchise if it's successful because it's about time Marvel has another smash hit in movies

If Marvel is banking on hope for The Thunderbolts, then Marvel Studios is in serious trouble. Hope is not a strategy. Admittedly, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been disjointed at best and ridiculous at worst, maybe hope is better than the current strategy?

It feels like T-bolts has good buzz, so I'm hoping it'll do pretty well. I have gotten more interested in checking it out as the marketing campaign has gotten into gear. It looks like a fun time!

I was discussing The Thunderbolts with Dad and what my dad thinks is The Thunderbolts will indeed become the start of a new franchise series like Guardians Of The Galaxy was and judging by the amount of promotion Marvel has given the film The Thunderbolts will put Marvel back on top. I am also surprised that Sebastian Stan is returning as Bucky Barnes and Sebastian Stan just might become a bigger Hollywood star due to this movie. Now I know why there was no season 2 of Falcon And The Winter Soldier planned or made. Because they probably wanted to put Bucky Barnes in this movie and give Sebastian Stan a lot of money for doing The Thunderbolts

Today The Thunderbolts debuts in theaters and I'm hoping that it gets a lot of people in theaters during opening day. I hope that this will be the film that will put Marvel back into high gear and make terrific movies once again. I also think many people will begin to start reading The Thunderbolts comics before seeing the movie to get to know the storyline and characters a lot better. I think it will break the record of previous Marvel movies and become number one at the box-office

I don't like to cast posters around here in a false or negative light, but Avengers : Endgame made over $2.5B in total box office if that is the "record of previous Marvel movies" that you refer to. Thunderbolts will not come close to Avengers: Endgame box office nor will it be as beloved.

As for your last comment, Thunderbolts better be the number one box office this weekend because there isn't any competition despite Sinners good box office results.

I think it'll do okay considering what else is out there, but I do not think it'll be a blockbuster and it certainly won't come close to Endgame numbers.

How was your theaters on opening day for The Thunderbolts today and tonight? Did a lot of people in your area see it? Because I can guarantee you that once The Thunderbolts do well in the first week the theaters will be full. What's also shocking is that none of the talk shows have had the stars of The Thunderbolts talk about the movie. I would've expected The View to promote it since ABC owns Disney/Marvel first

It opened with $32M, expected total weekend take is $75M. Not bad, puts it in range of Guardians of the Galaxy opening weekend numbers ($92M) but most don't think it'll reach that.

I think the two top characters that are stealing the show on The Thunderbolts are Sentry and Bucky Barnes because on nearly every Youtube video I see Sebastian Stan being featured on a lot of interviews promoting the movie. And I think The Thunderbolts might just make Sebastian Stan a bigger star in Hollywood. And just as I mentioned many times in this thread Marvel might make a whole trilogy of The Thunderbolts movies just like they have done with Guardians Of The Galaxy and Thor and Venom. But it will show that Marvel has improved itself well

Everyone sure is raving about how awesome The Thunderbolts is from The View to CBS Mornings and it goes to show that Marvel has the success of making profitable movies. I think they are predicting that The Thunderbolts will break the record of last year's Deadpool And Wolverine and be the popular film of Summer 2025

Not even close. DaW pulled in over a billion overall and Thunderbolts is not expected to reach that.

There are going to be some big movies this Summer, more Mission Impossible, more Jurassic Park, Superman, Lilo and Stitch may do well, Elio looks cute and Fantastic Four, First Steps might be a big draw for Marvel fans, plus many other films debuting in theater and on streaming. Quite a bit of competition in the cinematic world, so no Thunderbolts is NOT going to be the big Summer hit.

Agreed.

I think Universal is going to have a very successful year, actually. I'm curious if they end up Number 1 with cumulative box office. They have big movies like the new Jurassic film, Wicked 2 (this fall) and How To Train Your Dragon. Then they have some other smaller franchises that may play like Megan 3 (?), 5 Nights with Freddy 2, and Downtown Abbey 3 (?).

The movie I haven't wrapped my arms around yet is in October and that's the Michael Jackson bio-pic. I'm really curious how well that movie does at the box office. He's got a lot of popularity and a lot of baggage. Maybe that makes the movie even more compelling to the audience? Plus, biopics are hard to guestimate. But, frankly, there are very few (if any) musical artists with a larger international following than Michael Jackson. I think his record sales world-wide were over 1/2 billion? That's a lot.

I think judging on how much The Thunderbolts has made in it's first week in theaters it's still gonna break records but I think The Thunderbolts will easily become the new Avengers and Marvel will make The Thunderbolts be the stars of Marvel merchandise much like they did with Black Panther and Guardians Of The Galaxy

I finally caught T-Bolts yesterday. It was pretty good for the most part - it had a great tone and energy to it. I love Red Guardian - he's so funny! The ending was maybe a tad slow and I am not sure I would have rolled the Sentry storyline into a movie with this group. It's not the kind of problem you can just "punch and shoot" to resolve. I do think the movie hits on exactly it hasn't made a bigger splash at the box office - nobody cares about these characters! As good as it is, they just won't draw people in. Marvel has got to learn that the name doesn't mean anything - you can call it "Avengers" but nobody will care if it doesn't have The Avengers in it - the Avengers being people named Tony, Steve, Bruce, Clint, Natasha, and...Thor! Certianly, I can still enjoy it, but not at that "must see imemdiately" level. T-Bolts was a generally enjoyable movie though. I did love the The "AvengerZ with a Z" bit! 🤣

Now, Fantastic Four? That looks like a banger!
