My MOTHER misspelled my name- ON MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE! She spelled it Loreli and it's REALLY spelled Lorelei..... either way, nobody can ever pronounce it anyway!
Yes, they never get it right. They put in a "y" or "ie", but it's just an "i". Kelli, simple. My mom wanted people read my name to know I was a girl, lol.
Not only misspelled but mispronounced! My name is so "original, unique", whatever that I have to say my first name, spell it, then say my last name and spell it so they can even figure out which is which! Argh! I know my parents meant well but really!
First name....no.
Last name.......constantly. It's two words and either they make it one or add an extra letter or only use the last part of it.....and it makes for LOTS more junk mail!!
DD's is always spelled wrong. Even after almost 21 years, relatives still don't get it.
It's Christin no e on end. Said as Kristin.
People misspell our last name all the time. They always want to add that one extra letter.
Also, dh has a first name that could be a last name, and we are often called Mr. and Mrs. (dh's first name), lol.
My first name is Katrina. Not a very common name so many ask me how to spell it or use a C instead of K. Also my Mom's name is Chris so I get Christina. combo of both. Last name Shaffer can be spelled many ways (7 I know of) but usually people add a c, Schaffer. I've developed the habit when poeple ask me my name of saying Shaffer without a c.
