I submitted this question via the Airmiles site a week ago and have yet to receive a reply, so I'm hoping someone here might know the answer.

Is there an expiry date on WDW tickets purchased using Airmiles? My hope is to take a trip in late 2016 and I have enough Airmiles for 2 - 5 day tickets that I would get now and hold on to if they don't have to be used by a certain date.

I know tickets purchased from WDW don't expire until first use and then will expire if not completely used within 14 days.

Thanks.

I'm wondering the same thing. I believe they don't, but can't say for sure. I would also like to order some now to avoid possible point increases ;)

If anyone does come to answer, also wondering of aeroplan miles tickets are the same. I have enough to redeem for 1 of those too ;)

They didn't have expiration dates a few years ago when I bought them. I just ordered 1 a few weeks ago for our feb. trip and will post when it comes if it has an expiration date. I also checked with Universal to confirm that I could add a day. This is what they replied with:

"Please be assured you may upgrade your valid park admission ticket at any of our Guest Services locations inside Universal Studios Florida® or Universal’s Islands of Adventure®. Please be aware, the value of your ticket, not necessarily the amount paid, will be applied toward your upgrade. Ticket upgrades must be completed before the end of the day on the final day the ticket is used. Additionally, tickets cannot be upgraded for use by another person or for use during a separately ticketed event, such as Halloween Horror Nights® or Rock the Universe®."

Oops...just realized you were asking about Disney tix, not universal...sorry.

We went to disneyland in oct. Bought tickets with airmiles and yes they had an expiry date. I'm pretty sure it states such on airmiles site where you purchase the tickets as well. Might be different for disney world though as airmiles site says disneyland 2014/2015 for disneyland but doesn't for disney world

I got WDW tickets through AirMiles in April. They were the exact same MYW tickets (plastic RFID cards) that you get from Disney, with the exact same restrictions/policies.

As such (unless you pay extra for the non-expiring option) they expire 14 days after the first time they are used for entry into a park. But the 14-day clock doesn't start until the first time they are used, so you could buy them now and they would still be valid 10 years from now.

Thank you. I have been in touch with Edwin at Air Miles and he confirmed this is true for WDW tickets, but that Disneyland tickets do expire. Off to spend some points.:)

If I get a three day pass with my airmiles for WDW am I able to add days while at the world?

Yes, you can. But, make sure you use the ticket at least once to enter a park before adding the extra days. This will bring the ticket up to the current gate price (if ticket prices have increased since the ticket was purchased). You can also add the Park Hopper feature if you want that too.

WDW tickets purchased from airmiles do not have an expiry date on them. They are the same as tickets purchased directly from Disney, and therefore have the same policies regarding upgrading, expiry after first use, etc.

Happy travels.

Even if the price has not increased; Airmiles would have bought the tickets at a discounted rated with their bulk purchase. Once ticket is used the current gate price is used to calculate the upgrade cost.
