So sorry you had a bad time...what a way to start the vacation. A valuable lesson here....always take everything printable with you! We have EA so I don't have to deal with those people at the counter...we just hand the paperwork and all cards and coupons to the lady at the exit and after processing off we go! Rudeness is not necessary, but unfortunately it seems to be the norm with alot of travel related things!

Print out the DC Coupon Page AND the DC Contract Page. ALSO, bring your Disney Club Card and Emerald Club Card (or EC sign up Credit Card). When we checked out our car on April 28th, the EA booth person asked for and KEPT the coupon AND contract printouts. No problems at all with the reserved rate, once they found a car for us.

Apologies in advance, and I probably shouldn't stir the pot anymore, but since EC membership is free, why would anyone subject themselves to counter service at all? Even if you can't use EA, you can use Emerald Choice. After long flights, I just want to get in the car and GO.

For Clarification: Bring the 2 pages on which the codes are found the DC coupon ID# (1*******) AND the DC contract ID# (5*******), both are from the DC website, as is free Emerald Club membership.

what exactly is the DC contract page? I've printed the coupons but never saw a "contract page"
do I have the right paperwork?

There are 2 pages on the Disney web site. The first one is the page which has info about the contact ID for the 10-20% off. That contract ID starts with a "5". The 2nd page is the coupon for 1 free weekend day. It says "contract" on it, but that's a typo. The coupon number starts with a "1".
