Do not need anything to get into Downtown Disney

Ok if I understand this correctly anybody can get into Downtown Disney Marketplace and you do not need to use your MYW pluses. But if you want to go to Pleasure Island you do?

Also is there a place there where one can redeem the AP voucher? Since we will be checking into the CR on June 16th and will be in Orlando the 15th we figured to check out Downtown Disney that first evening. Thoughts?

You understand the concept perfectly; No admission necessary for DTD, but it IS necessary for Pleasure Island.

I'm a bit confused about the AP activation though, since you mentioned not want to use one of your MYW pluses. In either case, whether you have MYW tickets or an AP you should be able to activate them at guest services in DTD.

Heading here your first night is a good plan. You can have a decent meal, get some souvenier shopping done and start to feel the magic that is Disney!
