This has been a nightmare. I saw on here yesterday that they had a promo code for $40 off. It worked on the LM rooms at AoA so I thought lets give this a try. Its been horrible! I couldn't get it to pull up on MDE, then I saw you need to wait 24 hours. So I wait, now it won't pull up on Travelocity at all. I can't cancel or do anything. So from reading other posts, they said call customer service and ask for a US call center because the other ones don't understand what you are trying to do with MDE. The first person hangs up on me when I ask for a US call center. The second one just lies to me and says they don't have any. Then after asking 5 TIMES for a manager, I finally get one. When I ask her for a US call center she says well they're not open right now so you'll have to call back. I ask for the US number and she says, they don't have a direct number! I am just appalled of how easily I have been lied to. So now, I am being transferred to the US...apparently! This is soooo NOT worth $40!

Hang in there! I hope everything works out for you! Ive not ever booked Disney thru Travelocity, but I did book a hotel at Myrtle Beach thru them once, and yes, like you it was a terrible experience! But I hope once you get thru to someone, you can get it on MDE and enjoy your savings. I bought my last set of Disney tickets thru Orbitz.... and it took a few emails and phone calls to get them linked on MDE, but it in the end, the savings was worth it! Best of luck to you!

ugh! I'm sorry to hear that. I would have been so excited to get $40 off a room that's been excluded from most discounts! To have things be so challenging for you must be such a let down.

Thanks for sharing your experience and I hope that your situation improves.

Live and learn... anything that looks great doesn't have to be great... I would never bet my Disney vacation on a discounted web site no matter what others say or have done...yes, I'll pay a little more but traveling 1050 miles, I want control of my reservation, guaranteed confirmation of my stay and deal only with CRO... no on line crap either... I'll deal with humans even if a have to call a couple of times to get it right...

Do as you please but my time is precious and supposedly saving 40.00 isn't worth my time and sanity.... cancel the whole deal and go thru Disney

I have had the same problem. I took advantage of the $40 discount on a LM room at AOA. I can't hook up my travelocity reservation to MDE. I've booked through orbitz as well. That was no problem at all. I don't want to cancel the travelocity reservation because it was such a great deal.

I've had bad experiences with them too and learned my lesson.

I book directly with hotels and airlines. If I use an agent it's someone local. I know their name and phone number.

Next time you see a discount online take it to a real travel agent and see what they have to offer.

My DH worked in the travel industry for 40 years and he will never under any circumstances book hotel or air thru a 3rd party. If there is a problem you have to get the 3rd party to resolve the issue; the hotel or airline is not involved because the 3rd party owns the ressie. Our daughter would not listen to this advice and booked a hotel thru Travelocity and when they got to the hotel it was a rat trap and they wouldn't stay there, and it took her nearly a year to get her money back. I'm sure some people have had good luck booking thru 3rd parties but I'd rather be sure about my vacation dollars. Just not worth it to me.

This is our policy as well and I realize there are exceptions but I don't feel like you get these AMAZING deals booking through those sites anyways.

To OP- can you cancel and rebook through disneyl? or are you stuck?

Did you even try to talk to the regular call center or did you just ask for the US call center? The regular call center should be able to tell you if your Travelocity reservation is still there. It's not rocket science ... it's what they do every day.

Ok, so finally...after 4 phone calls and being VERY persistent, I got it cancelled! This is just an absolutely horrible company. I had to finally get to the US corporate office, which does exist even though they claim that it doesn't. After all that I asked can you just get me the 12 digit Disney confirmation because the Disney website does not recognize your 11 digit one? She tinkered for about 20 seconds and then said well I don't know, I'll just cancel this. So they could care less if I booked with them or not. Please, Please, Please take it from me, the savings is not worth it. Just don't do it!

Oh, no I did talk to them a lot. But in reading other threads on this topic, everyone said talk to the US center because the other ones don't seem to know what MDE is or how to link a reservations. So that's why I was persistent in the beginning because I really just wanted my reservation linked to MDE. But after seeing how much I was lied to, hung up on and then they "lost" my reservation so I would have to call back to cancel. I was so fed up that I just wanted my money back.

I'll start by saying it sounds like Travelocity does suck. lol. That is poor customer service.

I will add that I book through orbitz all the time. They were very helpful, and I actually usually go through their online chat. I tell them what I need or what requests I want on my room and they call Disney for me and add them. I don't even have to wait on hold with Disney, I continue about my day! They have 15% off promos out now that are valid for Disney hotels. So I saved $200 when I added a few nights onto my BC stay for Oct.

And for future use, when you book through a website such as orbitz they should give you an orbitz confirmation number AND a "hotel confirmation number." Mine are right on the confirmation emails they send me. It is not a 12 digit like Disney, it is only about 6 digits and it links to MDE. I'm not sure why you were told to go through all that hassle with a US call center because really even a US center wouldn't know squat about MDE, and they don't have access to it. You just needed to ask for the hotel confirmation number which any center should have right in front of them.

Are you using the "hotel confirmation number" and not the Travelocity confirmation number? That number should be on your e-mail confirmation or on your trip page when you look it up. You don't need the 12 digit Disney number, just the 6 digit hotel confirmation number.

I'll have to defend travelocity a bit here, I booked the same deal at Travelocity, and had no problems. Call travelocity and have them call Disney while you are on hold to confirm. Then call Disney and they can link it over the phone. Hope you get it fixed as AOA is awesome.

Well I didn't just hang in there and as previously said, I was finally able to cancel. I asked US and foreign offices and neither was willing to call WDW on my behalf. I ended up just booking with WDW for a Lion King AoA suite because with my discount (military) it ended up to be under $200 and I was already worried that the LM room was going to be too small. I know about the Orbitz (15% off) deal and thanks for the tip about the online chat but I just didn't want to take the risk that the same thing would happen. For every story that I have read on here in the past two days about someone being successful like you, I read another horror story.

I booked Travelocity and didn't have an issue. I called Disney and asked for My Disney Experience help. I told the CM that I needed to link my Travelocity reservation to MDE. She asked for my arrival date, departure date and name and was then able to provide me a 12 digit confirmation number that I successfully linked to MDE.

:thumbsup2 This is how it has worked on orbitz, expedia, hotels.com etc. for me. Pops right up in MDE, no calls from me or on my behalf.

Just in case anybody else is having any problems....I contacted Travelocity through their FB page. Sent a message that I needed the confirmation number so I could connect it to MDE. I called it the "Disney system" because I'm pretty sure they don't know what MDE is like most of the people on this planet!

A couple of days later I received an email with the numbers and I connected it to MDE no problem.

I have been having an issue with Travelocity as well which is why I will never book through them ever again. I will be in Disney September 12-18th and booked a package (plane and room) I recently saw that prices dropped at a closer more convenient airport and an earlier time which I wanted. I tried to change, they did not allow me to and said the airline has strict airline policies and they cant do anything about it. when I called the airline they laughed and said no, it was not them because they indeed charge a small cancelation fee. :thumbsup2 good job Travelocity.

This happens all the time.

I deal with third party companies pretty much all day at work, and some of them are pretty sneaky. They'll point fingers and blame the resort for things that they aren't willing to do. They make commission on all of the rooms they book, so they'll sometimes do anything they can to keep that higher rate for higher commission.

EDIT:
Not to take anything away from third party companies since some of them are really great. It seems like the ones that are outsourced are the worst as it sometimes seems like you are talking to a brick wall.
