Do many people cancel last minute?

We have a room reserved for the 22nd, which is a Saturday night, at All Star Movies. I just tried adding a room for the 21st, and they have no availability. Is it a common occurrence for people to cancel close to their arrival date? Should we keep checking back like we would do for ADRs? It'd be very helpful if we could add the night of the 21st since we will be getting in very late that night (like 3 AM on the 22nd) and would like a place to rest before heading to the parks (as well as a place to rest in the afternoon for a break).

Thanks.

NOt sure, but my advise would be to call each morning as soon after 7 am as possible. I beleive any cancellations from the day before become available the next morning.

Also Happy Birthday - I am also from Ohio and will be staying at All Star Sports March 20-27!

I have no idea, but just wanted to add that I'm a Buckeye also and will be at Pop from March 24-28th.

Check back. I was able to get a room at CSR for the 19th thru the 22nd just last thursday! I also changed my reservation 5 times to get it, so it is worth it to check as any times as possible.

My ressie started out the 19 - 21 at Pop. Then 19 -22nd at Pop. Then 19-22 at All Star Movies. Then CBR opened and then finally CSR opened up. All of this started on Mon 3-3 and I checked disney's site about 2 times an hour all day.

good luck

We have had to cancel at the last minute twice in the last few years so you can keep hoping, but if I were you I would make a contingency plan and book a room somewhere else like the DTD hotels in case nothing turns up.

Have you considered staying at an airport hotel the night you arrive, then taking ME to WDW the next morning? For me, the Hyatt inside the airport would be perfect. You could collect your luggage, then take an elevator to your hotel!

You can get fantastic prices on Priceline -- like $50-60. Check www.betterbidding.com for details and there are also frequent posts on the Orlando Hotels forum.

Definitely keep checking--both online and by calling. I've been checking online and calling every day for 2 weeks to add the night of 4/2 to an existing reservation--- I couldn't get that night with the AP discount when I made my original reservations which ended up being a day short with 4/3-4/6 I checked this morning online and FINALLY got it with the AP discount!!! Sending you goodvibes! :goodvibes

Agreed - keep checking. We decided to go last year for spring break less than 2 weeks before and wanted to stay at the All-Stars. We started with 6 nights at POR, but I kept calling and ended up with an AP discount at Sports for 5 nights and Movies for the last night (no discount). So there are cancellations close to arrival date.
