My 14 yo son and his best friend plan on doing a lot of the teen activities on our 7/17/04 western cruise. The last time we cruised, our son was in the Oceaneers Club and I remember that we had to register him. Is there a registration process for the teen club? Thanks!

Sort of, but not really ;)

They have the kid's name and they may get an invitation in their stateroom to come to the 411 (meet and greet). The first time my dd went, in they just marked off her name but she never had to sign in for anything after that.

This was a few years ago, so things may have changed.

I do know that if they want to participate in a certain activity, they may need to sign up for it.

Registration is held fairly early upon embarkation. It is the only time that parents will be allowed in to tour the club. The counselors are very personable and happy to meet the parents and teens. They will give you all a small tour, check your name on the list, and give more info on the 411 meet. I have always checked my girls in on our cruises, although I know some parents do not attend. Personal choice.

Thanks for the information! I'm an "involved" parent, so I'll probably be going to the informal tour. I have a great amount of trust in my son and his friend (they've been friends since Matt moved next door when he was 4), but I'd like to meet the counselors. Thanks again!

I too, am very much an 'involved' parent who has been on two 3 night cruises. Next year my DD age 13 is planning on joining in with the Teen Club, are they allowed to come and go as they please? Do they need to carry their KTTW all the time to pay for drinks or smoothies?

Thanks for any info

Yes, the teens come and go as they please. They can pick and choose their activities by looking over the Teen Navigator they will be given at registration. It will list all teen activities for the entire cruise.

They will need their room key to carry at all times since it is a cashless ship and will need the key to make any purchases including beverages, souvenirs, etc.
