Do kids need to keep their KTTW with them?

Just wondering if I can hold on to these for them, or if they need to have them. We plan on having charging priviledges removed so they won't need cards for that.

Thanks.

Laura

It would depend on the age of the child. I don't think the little ones would need them as they have name tags they wear in the clubs. For the older kids who would have sign in and sign out privledges they would want them since they are also the key to your stateroom.

My kids DS (8&10) love wearing their lanyards with the KTTW cards. It gives them responsibility and it's like a "Badge of Honor". I know they like the feeling of independence it gives them, but being girls, I think they also just like wearing accessories. At home they are always looking for reasons to wear their DCL lanyards.

We don't let them hold them on excursions, or when we visit the parks. But the ship is a great place to give your kids some freedoms in a controlled environment. Just please ask them not to push all the buttons in the elevators!

You can get lanyards at many places. I think someone posted that Walmart or Target has them. Just make sure they have a pocket for the KTTW (like a Credit Card holder).

We purchased the DCL ones on the ship. I now wear mine at work everyday with my work ID on it. My wife purchased the small water-tight one for use on the cruises, and she keeps all of our KTTWs and IDs in it when we go on swimming excursions and at CC. It's also good for visiting water parks year round.

WalMart has them in the jewelry dept by the wallet acc. they are .97 cents and are black and they worked quite well!

Do you know anyone who "gets" to attend professional conferences? I go to several each year and so I collected the lanyards and brought a bunch with me. Passed them out to kids we met. Many of the kids loved the logos on the lanyards (OK, I am a techie so some of the companies might be considered "cool" or geeky, not sure which).
Humorously, MY kids (twin DSs 9) wouldn't wear them and kept the cards in their pockets. It worked but I was nervous.

Remember - if you want to give your kids the ability to charge you cannot punch a hole in the card to attach it to the lanyard so you will need the type with the plastic card holder/pouch thingy
