My son certainly loves chicken fingers and mac and cheese like 98% of the rest of the population under the age of 10 but he also has a fairly sophisticated palate for a six year old (he LOVES sushi, salmon, brussels sprouts, bleu cheese dressing etc...). Will be be able to order from either menu for the kids price or is he limited to the kids menu everywhere?

Will you be on some sort of meal plan? If not, of course he will be able to order as he wishes.

Even on the old Gold plan years ago, our children were able to order as they wished. The new MYW plan is new enough that I don't think it is clear enough yet what is being allowed. But if you're not doing that plan, order away!

If you are on the MYW dining plan, and your son is 9 or under, he will be relegated to the kids menu. If he is over 10, you will pay $35 per day (same as the price for an adult), and he could order off either menu, although you might not get your moneys worth if you plunk down $35 day per day for him and he ends up exclusively eating from kids menus.

If you are not doing MYW, and are paying as you go, your DS can order off either the adult menu or the childrens menu, and will pay the price listed on the menu for the items ordered.

If you are paying as you go, sometimes the buffets are a good deal when you have an adventurous eater, and they qualify for the kids price. Then they can try whatever they want, but you are paying the lower price. Boma might be a good option for your family to consider if you are in this situation.

If you are on a meal plan he will most likely have to order off the kid menu. The thing is however that with a starter, main meal and desert, you will have more that enough to share some of those good things with him off your choices. Portions are huge at WDW. Perhaps if you all share and are going back to the room, that kids meal could go back and if you have a freg or a cooler, could be a snack later.

No, we're not going to be on any sort of meal plan, just pay as you go. I think the buffets are probably going to be our best bet and we really want to try BOMA. Thanks for the info!

If he orders from the adult menu he'll pay the adult price.

At buffets he can have anything for the kids price.

If there's something on the adult menu he wants, ask about getting a half portion. Some restaurants will do this with some, but not all entrees.
