I admit, I'm not very adventurous when it comes to trying different types of ethnic food, but when my wife won a little extra money she wanted to use it to try a new restaurant on our upcoming Disney trip, ergo, Sanaa.

I'm also not a big veggie eater unless you count corn on the cob or relish on a hot dog so I"m in trouble here!

I've looked at the menu, even watched a video on the making of Tandori chicken and whatnot and right now I'm wondering if I can make a meal out of bread and crackers.
I've read rave reviews for the short ribs there, but what are short ribs?
Wifey says they are mostly like pot roast, which I'm not that crazy about, is that true? And is there a chance they could then be very fatty? Or are they more like back or spare ribs?
All thoughts or other ideas would be greatly appreciated since I don't want to have to smuggle in a couple of Slim Jims.
Also while I'm at it, is the Naan bread or whatever they call it something we orta split as an appetizer?
HELP! Where's Flame Treee when I need it?

You may want to go there for lunch. The lunch menu has some more culinarily conservative items, like a burger and I believe a club sandwich.

I really want to try this place too and I have reservations for it but I think I am going to cancel because DH is not fond of the menu. He loves short ribs (yes they are like pot rost and yes they can be fatty - Citrcos has amazing ones and Chefs de France had super fatty ones) but I dont think he will be happy with anything else.

Ok, I am a VERY picky eater. Last month we were virtually STUCK at Kidani because I had severe swelling in my feet & ankles and Sanaa was the only game in town (well, the only restaurant on site.)

I now LOVE Sanaa & can't wait to return. Yes, the short ribs are very much like pot roast but without all the yucky, mushy, overcooked vegetables. The green curry shrimp was to die for. The whole grain pilaf was nutty and wonderful (just grains, no veggies or onions or spices.) The first visit, we went for lunch and I had the Angus burger on Naan bread. I told them to leave off the onions because I hate them. The sandwich tasted very much like a gyros, but without all the garlic. The cucumber raita was almost the same as tzatziki sauce. On subsequent visits I worked my way up to slightly more adventurous dishes as mentioned previously. The mustard crusted scallop appetizer was one of the best things I've ever eaten - wish they would make it an entree!

I really wanted to hate Sanaa - obviously the opposite happened. And all the servers we had were just great. The ambience and atmosphere were both very warm and inviting. The food was not OVERLY spiced - it was nicely spiced. And I'm sure you could ask them to "kick it up" if you wanted. I highly recommend it.

Sanaa is AMAZING. The food tastes better than it sounds on the menu. I would go for it and venture out of your comfort zone.....you most likely will not be disappointed!!!!

Since your wife really wants to go, maybe you could order off the children's menu, or have a sandwich elsewhere beforehand. You probably WON'T like the food on the regular menu. I am basing that conclusion on your questions, not on Sanaa's offerings.

Sannaa was a new one we tried last visit and it is a must do now. The food was amazing. That being said, it sounds like you really don't like food slightly off the beaten path, but there is a kids meal so for your wifes sake you might want to give it a try. It's one of the least expensive restauarants on the property in my opinion. THe naan is fantastic, if you really wanted to, you could make it your meal especially with some dips.

I you DO go, make sure you go to the bathroom! As silly as it sounds, it's the coolest bathroom I've ever seen. Make sure you check it out. :lmao:

LOL - I missed that experience - will definitely check it out next visit. Thanks for the tip.

We have an ADR here as well since we end our trip at AKL for a night, I had read amazing reviews and DH wanted to try it but Im concerned for my two teens..Neither one like Curry so I hope they will be ok..I really really want to try it!
