Do I understand this correctly?

Mears Transportation charges $30.00 per PERSON (x4 for us) = $120.00 round trip: includes lots of wasted time and heightens stress level & personalized service.

Other transportation like Happy, FL, et al, charges $80.00 per CAR round trip = $80.00: EXcludes wasted time & adds to the excitement of the vacation?

Is this RIGHT? Sounds too good to be true!

We're getting in around 5:00 pm & don't want to waste any time getting to the parks!!!

That is correct. When there are at least 3 people traveling, it starts to make sense to look into towncar services because it becomes less expensive.

BTW, welcome to the DIS. You obviously have been surfing the DIS a lot. DISers who have been registered for years with thousands of posts do not even know there is a transportation board

Yes..it does end up saving you money if you're traveling with at least 3 people. We used Legacy Towncar, and had wonderful service. Since we arrived after 8 one night, it was so nice to have the car ready and waiting, whereas we would have had to wait for the right shuttle with Mears. It was nice to have carseats (whereas if you don't have your own on Mear's..you're stuck with a laprider). You didn't have to squeeze in with people you didn't know. We got a grocery stop! And having to leave 4 hours early for your flight was the pits with Mears. Legacy recommended leaving 2 hours early, which was nowhere near enough time.....so I'll opt for right in the middle next time.

I've never done Mears when at Disney so I can't comment. I did do a car rental when it was my family and our best friends (7 of us total) and it was great. Saved a ton of money and aggravation.

Having said that, I still think the best way to go is to rent a car. With the rates and codes out there its been great for us. I've currently got a National rate of $149 for a standard size car for the week. Completely worth it to me to not be tied to the buses.
