Do I tip the playset installers? UPDATED with pic

Only if they offer to push you in the swing.;)

if it were me I would tip.....if it is set up quick and easy probably about $10 each man....if you are talking about a wood/metal set that takes a couple of hours to set up, probably about $20 each man.

Did you pay extra for this set to be put together?

Sorry but if I already paid , not going to pay again, definitely not $40. more.:scared1:

With our playset, we got free installation, but I still didn't tip. :)

We got discounted installation/delivery (250 instead of 500 - still a pretty penny, eeks) for purchasing the display model. I guess I'll see how good of a job they do before I decide - I just wanted to know what was standard practice. Thanks for the all the responses!

Holy crap! No way would I tip if I was paying $250 for them to do it!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I would tip them enough so that they could go and get themselves some lunch, even if I had paid for delivery and installation.

It's not like they're getting the $250, though. When ours was installed, the guy gave me his card, and told me if we ever needed it moved, to give him a call, and he'd do it for much less than what Rainbow charged.

Yeah but they are getting paid some how. They don't live on tips. I really don't think everyone needs a tip.

Now, see, this just gets my goat. The employee is undercutting his own employer -- I see it as stealing. I've had other service people try to do this as well -- I shouldn't have to question an employee's commitment to his/her company.

I didn't tip them. They did a good job BUT didn't arrive until almost 5. We were expecting them around 1030 to 1130. They arrived so late that they had to use flashlights. By the time they were done, I couldn't see much.

Here's a picture from this morning:

Love your swingset. We have the same one.

When we bought the display model 2 years ago, ours included free installation from rainbow.

They did a really god job but I still didn't tip.

Wow love it , wish our backyard was that big too. We only have a postage stamp size yard.

They probably put it up faster then some since they do this for a living but for them to have to use flashlights...:sad2:

We have the same playset. We paid to have it set up and did tip them. I think $20 for each guy.

I love this swingset, too.
From the other posts, I gather that the brand name is Rainbow? Could you tell me the model name? We plan on purchasing a set this spring and this set looks like so much fun!

Yes, this is a Rainbow Carnival Castle Pkg II, we added in a monkey bars upgrade.

The Castle Pkg III had monkey bars, I didn't see any other difference between II and III, but with the Christmas sale, it was cheaper to do the II + monkey bars upgrade.
