Do I still need to activate a renewal AP at guest services?

I have renewed my DVC annual pass, made all my park reservations and linked everything in MDE. Do the passes still need to be activated in person at guest services?

I have always had to activate them in person at guest services. You can either do it at the part entrance or in Disney Springs.

There are Ticket Windows and Guest Relations at all theme park entrances (which includes the IG).

Ticket Windows at the theme parks can also activate Annual Passes.

Town Center section. Very close to the entrance from the bus depot, D-Luxe Burger & Blaze Pizza.

If you are a Florida resident, no. My understanding is that everyone else must stop at guest services or a ticketing window to activate your pass.
Florida residents had the ability to do this online.
