Do I really need my childs birth certificate?

I have a child who will be 35 months on my upcoming trip to Disney World. Anyway, will a CM really ask me for a birth certificate to prove his age? I took my daughter at about the same age and didnt have a problem at all -- but after reading this forum and another one someone recommeded it. I was just wondering if anyone ever had personal experience with this. I mean are they going to harass me about my kids looks and age --just shy a few weeks of being 3?

My DD has always been in the 100th percentile for height and her first trip was at 35 months. We never had a problem and were never questioned. Don't worry and have a great trip!!

Same Here. We went 2 weeks before my son's birthday and did not have any problem. He is a big child and off the charts in weight and 100% for height. One time when we were going into AK thru the Rainforest Cafe entrance he would not walk through the turnstile, for some reason, and the lady asked how old he was. She did not question us. I don't think they would question anyone unless it was completely obvious they were telling the truth. They do not want to offend people by calling them liers.

Our first trip was with a 34 month old and we were never questioned. We are just back, this time with a 30 month old who is a big boy, and again they never so much as gave us a second look. I wouldn't worry about it. Have a great trip!

Thanks for asking about this. My son will turn 10 the day after we get back from our trip (dates are partly so that we can get child rates for him). He doesn't look old for his age, so I think we'll be OK.

Another mom here who's son is much bigger than his age group. He looked 4 when he was 2! I was never asked about his age, but at that stage he could have told his own age if questioned. Since we never tried to get him in as 'younger' once he was past 3, it wasn't an issue for him to tell his true age. If they ask, you can let your child answer honestly.

Well my son tells people he is either 5 or 7!!!

But he definitely doesnt look that old. LOL

Yep, I can relate to this one. Our little guy was way taller than his four year old cousin when he was not quite three. We were never asked, but he was usually riding on the back of the sit and stand stroller, so that might have had a little to do with it. The CMs always chatted with him while I did the finger scan for my AP and none even acted concerned.

And yeah, if they asked him he would tell them he was 6 or 11, which no one is buying!

Our son turned 10 at DW, we went before his birthday so he could get a child's AP. When we went back 11 months later, I asked at guest services if we needed to upgrade his pass to an adults, and they told me just let him use the child's one until it expired. He is on the small side for his age, and no one ever questioned his age.

Thanks for starting this thread. I'm taking my ds and dn next week. My ds turns 9 while we're there and dn turns 10 the end of December. I was wondering whether it would look funny to have a birthday celebration for him one of the days we're there and to have a child pass and do child meals etc.
