$5 but still lol :) Wife says its a must to get like tickets on a card instead of getting the paper tickets that you get when you buy the e ticket online? I am assuming they have card like tickets with your name on them am I correct in assuming these are the tickets they would ship to you? Pretty much how do I get tickets on a card and how much will it cost me?

Can I pick the ticket up when I get there for free or is it $5 no matter what?

If you're talking about ordering online and having them physically mailed to you for $5 instead of printing them for free, they still aren't hard plastic tickets, they are the same paper tickets that you get once you hand in your e-tickets at the park. In other words, please DON'T pay extra for that!

To answer your question about hard plastic tickets, you can get them at grocery stores (if local to the area), Disney stores, or through some packages through Costco, AAA, etc.

Yep I bought online and paid the 5 and we have paper tickets. I still would've paid the 5 because we're surprising the kids and I wanted to put the ticket in their surprise pack..but they aren't the hard ones :)

That may be the thing to do. I think the OP is going for 5 or 6 days, and it is hard to find the tickets in my grocery stores for more than 3 days. If similiar for the OP they could upgrade them at a ticket booth to add the other few days needed. Not likely but possible there could be a ticket offer for Summer when the OP is going and they may loose out on a discount if they have to uprgrade.

As the pp said, it's hard to get 6 day tickets in the plastic card form. We tried stores, MWR, Costco, etc., and none had 6 days. We had to order them online and decided to have them shipped to us (printer is broken). We should get them in a couple of days. I suspect they'll be paper.

Thanks guys, as skiing said we are going for 6 days it's a shame we can't find hard tickets but it's okay just have to make sure the paper ones don't get wet. I guess calling Disney and asking won't do any good?

The paper ones can take a good soaking. They aren't made of printer paper, but more like stockboard with a glossy finish like decent business cards. Carrying them in your pocket and getting them damp on GRR or Splash or during a rainy day won't ruin them.

The paper ones are Tyvek, assuming they are the same as the stuff at WDW. The stuff that goes under the walls of the house to waterproof the place. They are fine getting wet. Even if they are more like what skiing just said, they are still find getting a bit wet, though we keep them in lanyard pouches and therefore they don't get wet anyway.

What if you print the e-ticket at home. Do they replace it or do you use that paper all week?

Each E-ticket, one per person, needs to be printed out on a regular piece of paper. At the gate they scan the sheet of paper and exchange it handing you a regular paper ticket to use for your visit.

I know it costs more, but you could try to book a package through disney. before I got my AP's that what we did. You book your room and tickets together, I've always gotten plastic tickets when doing this. It costs more because usually you're paying rack rates for the room and to get "free extras" like a pin and lanyard, luggage tags, and some sort of small collectable (we've gotten coins). If you wanted to try and save money while doing this, book a one night stay at the hotel of choice then transfer to your "deal" hotel. You could still get a 5 or 6 day pass even though you're only staying one night at the hotel.
