Do I need to wait until UY 08 to borrow?

I need to borrow from my '09 UY points to make a ressie, can I do that now or do I have to wait until my UY cycles in Oct?

Base that decision on when your trip is booked. If your trip falls in the 08UY and follows the 11 or 7 month rules then you should be able to borrow from 09UY to book the reservation.....

As long as the days booked fall within the prior UY(08) then you can borrow the 09 points....So....

If you have an Oct UY and you wanted to book Sept 20-27, 2008 and borrow from your 09 points, you would be out of luck since the days booked do not fall within the prior UY (08) which begins 9/30/08.

This is where banking and borrowing come into play...you could bank your 07 points into 08 and borrow your 09 points into 08 and have triple the points to use in UY 08.

I do have an Oct UY actually and I want to book a Jan 09 trip borrowing Oct 09 points so that appears to work perfectly.

Again, a function of use year.

If for instance, I have a June use year, and have already used all my points that I will receive on June 1, 08. Now I want to book an October '08 trip, so yes, I can borrow my 09 points.

Basicaly, as long as a trip falls during your '08 use year, you can borrow '09 points if needed, no matter when you actually are calling MS to book the trip.
