Do I need to pack beach towels?

We may go to cable beach in Nassau.

You can pick up towels as you step off the ship, at least on Castaway Cay day..

dcl's towels are on the small side. We ususally purchase one new one onboard and bring our full size ones. We like to lay on full size towels.

If you like normal sized beach towel you should bring your own or buy one on the ship...the ones they hand out were really small, can't be considered anywhere near a "beach towel" size...

We bring our own. The towels they give you are just the regular "bath" towels which are even small "bath" towels.

My favorite souvinier I bought on our Magic cruise was a beach blanket I picked up on Castaway Cay. It has Mickey and Minnie in their beach attire and says Castaway Cay on it. A huge double sized thick absorbant beach towel. I love it. We take it every year on vacation. I know you can get them on the ship as I saw them on a cart by the Mickey pool. They are not cheap though $40 I think. I plan to pick another one up on our upcoming cruise!

I'm bringing a couple older beach towels with us.... (One's I wouldn't miss if something happened to them.)

It helps on the ship to know which chairs are yours because all the pool towels look alike.

(P.S. I wonder what DCL will do when they realize everyone is taking this nearly free excursion instead of paying for one.)

I just meant that going to Cable Beach is "an excursion" of sorts.

If we had the search feature back up, I could direct you to threads on others who have gone to cable beach.

Apparently, you can either ride a bus to there $1.00 per person each way or a taxi ($4 perperson I think).

The Wyndham at Cable Beach lets outsiders use their pool and beach for free.
There is even a casino there.

On our last cruise we spent over a hundred dollars doing the blue Lagoon Day.
It was nice but expensive when you don't have alot of money.

But from reading other threads, it sounds like more and more people are doing cable beach on their Nassau day.
