Do I need to make reservations for January?

Do I need to make character meal reservations this time of year? We're going Jan 28-Feb 4th. I'm hoping the crowds are nice and low. I can see making reservations for the princess dinner but what about the other places? We'd like to do dinner at chef mickeys too. I plan on using or table service for dinner meals, we don't eat enough breakfast to make it worth it...

Are there any character meals we can just walk into without reservations? I hate having to sit down and plan out every day for dining because you know how things change or we end up somewhere else or not hungry at the time or you know what I mean :rotfl: I don't want to be on a schedule every day for meals but I would book a couple but I don't want to be stuck not being able to have a table service meal the days we don't make any reservations either!

And what is the best time to do character dining? Are we nuts to do the princess dinner on the weekend or should we just wait and do character dining during the weekdays instead?

The best rule of thumb is that you should make reservations for ANY character meal if you want to make sure to get in - especially if you have a specific time in mind. You should definitely have a reservation for Chef Mickey's, as it's one of the most popular restaurants in the World.

If you're going to be on the dining plan (sounds to me like you are getting the dining plan), it's not a good idea to go to the parks without planning your meals.

It won't matter if it's a weekday or a weekend as long as you have reservations.

Basically if you want to eat at any character meal at any time Make A Reservation!!!

We go every mid to late Jan and did several character meals this year. The only one that was not packed was Cape May at BC. For the others, I know we would not have been able to get a table without an ADR.

Is that MLK week. If it is the crowd will be heavier. It's always best to make reservations.

Okay, I'll have to bite the bullet and sit down and write out a plan then. No biggie. WE have park hoppers so we can just bounce around if we need to. Thanks!!!

We walked up to Cape May for first seating breakfast once. I wouldn't chance it though.
