Do I need to make Dinner Reservations?

One of my "pet peeves" when staying at WDW, is having to make dinner reservations far in advance. We like to eat when we get hungry and we don't always know what "type" of food we want that far in advance.

Will I need reservations at the resort resturants (we're staying at RP, but may eat at other hotels) and/or City Walk?

Thanks,

P.S. We're going in late August.

P.S.S. How about at Character meals?

Hi Kimberle,

At the resort restaurants, I would recommend advance ressies if you want to eat at Tchoup Chop or Mama Della's. I called 10 days in advance to make a ressie at The Kitchen, and they thought I was crazy.

Obviously, the restaurants will be busy on weekends, and when the parks get out (especially CW restaurants), but I wouldn't stress over it too much. Just try to avoid eating at popular times, and you should be OK.

Frogot to add: there is a character breakfast at Confisco's. I was there for a DISmeet at 10:30 one Saturday morning, and we were one of the only tables there (this was during Oct.). I wouldn't stress too much over this either. Just be flexible with your times.

BTW, I did my undergrad at Fairfield Univ. Are you from near there?

Have a great trip!

Remember too, you are supposed to get FOTL seating with your room key at most City Walk restaurants. We never had to use it because our kids get hungry pretty early, before it gets crowded.
