Do I need to make ADRs for August 23?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but we haven't been to Disney in two years and I'm not as up-to-date as I used to be. We're gonna be at the world for a day (moving to Orlando) on Saturday the 23rd and I'm wondering if ADRs are necessary. Is it really hard to get into restaurants walk-in? Such as Sci-Fi?

I can make them but we haven't planned much for this day since there will be plenty of days to follow.

Thanks!

Not sure about Sci-Fi in particular, but it's best to have ADRs if you're set on eating at a particular restaurant.

Its not a stupid question, not at all! But yeah, I would go ahead and make the ADR if you want a table service. Hopefully they are able to help you. Good luck!

Your odds of getting an ADR at a theme park restaurant on such short notice are very slim, I'm afraid, and most no longer take walk-ups if they're fully booked.

You should certainly call and see what's available, but many people are booking ADRs at 6 months out these days, and I believe free dining is going on for that period as well.

Definitely

Although free dining for US doesn't start till next day, people from UK will be there on free dining. I have tried to add a couple of extra ADR's for the week up to 23rd - managed to snare a couple but a AK character breakfast was already fully booked.

PS This is my 1500'th post

I would never go to WDW without making ADRs, we have seen too many places sold out so I would not chance it

not sure anyone else said this, but isn't Sci-fi in Holly Wood studios?? not epcot?
