Do I need to cancel ME?

We are coming down in 2 weeks and decided to rent a car. We do not need ME. Should I inform Disney that I wont be using ME, or does it not matter?

It does not matter. Just don't put the tickets on the luggage.

Here is an idea for you:

when we go - I rent the car, stop at the grocery and then head to the resort. In the meantime, my DH and kids ride ME so we don't have to deal with the luggage and get to the resort and check in.

By the time I get to the resort, they are usually already checked in, rested up from the trip and ready to go!

You don't need to cancel - they won't hunt you down in the airport and make you ride ME.

But if you know you're not going to use ME, why not go ahead and cancel it?

Because I am scared if I cancel it, other things are going to get cancelled as well.

If you cancel DME, you won't screw up your room or dining reservations. I'm almost positive they are different systems. (Dining and room certainly are - besides, you've paid a deposit or fully paid for your room. They are going to put you up!)

I would cancel - we rented a car at the last minute this trip and forgot to cancel. DME called me at home, on my cell, and at the resort to make sure I safely arrived. Funny and time consuming at the same time!

ME and your Disney package are two total separate entities. One does not effect the other.

However, I would cancel as a courtesy to them; a few less people to worry about on their end.
