Now I can say DD1 because today is her official birthday!!!! I bought her a bathing suit for her first official swim *ever*, but I didn't think to get her any sort of tube. I just figured I would hold her for as long as we are in there because we are not big pool people, so we would only be going in for a short amount of time. Should I pack one? Or can I pick up an inexpensive one at Publix? Or will just holding her be fine? Thanks for helping me with my pool etiquette!

You'll have no problem holding her, but if you do buy a float make sure it is the ones that have the seat attached to them. You can't use regular inner tubes or raft type floats in the pools.

Edited to add: I'm sure you're already aware of this, but your DD has to be wearing a swim diaper to go into the pools, regardless if you're holding her or not.

I've never used them before, but I'm assuming she can just wear one under her bathing suit? I got both the diaposable and reusable, but I'll only bring the disposable. I think I'll skip the float, then.

Yep, you can wear the disposables under the swimsuits. I always buy the litle swimmers from huggies and have no problems!! Have a GREAT trip!

Your little one won't need a float as long as you always have her facing you... 1 Year olds are known for drinking pool water and you don't want them to choke... Also don't hold them too tight under the arms as it slows down their blood circulation...

I also swear by the disposable swim diapers.. They don't let anything escape!!!

The re-usable ones some times do. This has happened to me by experience.

Have lots of fun!!!

You can if you like. We just returned from WL. There were a couple of babies floating in that ring thing that you stick the baby in the middle of. Don't remember the name. You can also get a life jacket from the guard. While my dd was in the kiddie pool, we didn't use anything (pool was 1 foot). When she was in the big pool, eventhough we held her, we put her swim vest on.

Do whatever you feel most comfortable with! If you have room in your suitcase, take it. If you don't have room, then don't "sweat it".

Most anything "went" at the pools as long as other swimmer weren't interferred with and the pool was kept safe.
