Do I need Reservations for Afternoon Tea at GF?

Hi,
I will be going to DW in a couple weeks. I am interested in Afternoon Tea at Grand Floridian as it is just a boat ride from Wilderness Lodge. How far ahead do I really have to make reservations for this?

What about other restaurants? I realize that some character things can only be reserved a year ahead but is that true of restaurants?

I'd definitely say make them now. With the anniversary celebrations going on, and with many hotels already booked, I'm sure any PSs for just about most the popular meals, etc. are already getting booked up. Enjoy if you go!

Most Priority Seatings (reservations) can be made for all events 90 days in advance.
The Hoop De Doo show is two years in advance.

I suggest making PS for anything that you REALLY want to do. If you would be dissapointed with not being able to go to the tea, yes, make the PS. If it doesn't matter to you....you can always call when you get there, the day before, or even the morning of!

I'd definitely make a PS. We had to really scramble our schedule around to fit in the PS that they had available for us - they were quite booked.

We attended afternoon tea at GF during the week before Easter...one of WDW's busiest times. We had a PS but it really wasn't that busy the whole time we were there...and that included a large party of about 16 women. However, the other places we ate were quite busy and we wouldn't have bothered trying without a PS.

I would definately call now for PS. I made mine this week for next month and there weren't a ton of openings. I was able to have my choice of days or my choice of times, but not both.

I would go ahead and make reservations for the tea if you're really interested. We didn't think we had to for our 2003 trip, and weren't able to fit it in the end. We're not making that mistake this year!!

We've always made PS for this, and it books quickly. That said, once we didn't have a PS and took our chances. We had to wait twenty minutes to be seated, but they did squeeze us in.

For those who have attended the Tea, how are the pastries and sandwiches that are served? I was all ready to make my PS and I had read on another site that the food is pretty tasteless. I've never been myself. I was going to drag my DH along but if the food isn't good, I know he'll be really unhappy!

Oh my gosh! The food is FABULOUS!!!

(And if your DH doesn't want tea--they server "stronger fare", my DH gets a beer  )

My sister and I went about a year ago. SHe lived in teh UK for about five years and knows her teas, high, low, and otherwise--she LOVED it!

She did say it was a bit "Americanized" but still very, very enjoyable.

Hey thanks, Ducklite, you've put my mind at rest. I think I will go ahead and make that PS after all.

:teeth:

We weren't impressed with the sandwiches, we make far better finger sandwiches down here. However, the strawberries and cream and the pastries were wonderful! If I went back I would just do those.
