We will be arriving next Friday and I was wondering if I needed quarters for the toll do or if the booths are manned and can give change? Also how much are the tolls from MCO to WDW? Thanks all!

We just returned from Orlando. To be safe I would bring lots of change. We used 417 yesterday from Celebration to Orange Blossom Drive & one of the toll areas was not manned. I wondered what happens to folks who do not have change.

I would suggest bringing quarters because it's much faster than going through a manned booth (if there is one open). I'm not sure what happens if there isn't a manned booth available.

When BF and I were there in september, it was during the hurricanes and almost all the tolls were suspended. It was great. I even took a picture of the sign stating it because I knew no one back home would believe me. I think we ended up paying a total of less than a dollar in tolls driving from the west side of the state to Orlando and it should have been well over that!

Good Luck!

Yikes!!! This has happened to us twice! We had to run the toll both times.
(As you can tell, we didn't learn from the first mistake!)

I know what happens to people who don't have change!
When we were exiting 417 at Celebration one day, the car in front of us sat for a while. Then a very frazzled looking British tourist jumped out and ran back to us to see if we had change for a dollar!
I have seen people run the tolls too, but be careful: I have also seen cops grab them for doing it.

On 417, there are two $1.00 tolls that have manned boths. If you get off anywhere along the line, there will be a 50¢ toll at an unmanned booth. If you are only going to and from the airport, you will need $2.50 each way.

I think I brought $10 in quarters just in case I went for a drive to Cocoa Beach or something. Worked out great.

Where are you staying? If you get off at the International Drive/Downtown Disney exit on 417 (exit 6), it's two $1.00 tolls both manned. If you continue onto the next exit, not sure of the name but it's closer for All Stars or AK Lodge and perhaps the MK resorts, it's the extra 50 cents.

We will be staying at POFQ when we arrive and we will be leaving from OKW. We will not be driving once on property unless there is an emergency. I imagine we will be getting off at the DD resort exit correct? So will we not need change then?

We only used our change. Just handed it to the booth attendant. Better safe than sorry. I would have some change in a ziploc, just in case.

Okee Dokee! Thanks so much everyone! I will take a baggie of change with us!

plus, you never know when you will need some quick quarters for a load of laundry or a can of Diet Pepsi! :drinking1

How did you know Diet Pepsi is my fave?? :drinking:

I did have Mt. Dew in there... but I put you more on a drink my wife likes, which is Diet Pepsi... either that, or a lucky guess!

Yes, get off at exit 6, it is right after the second toll booth from the airport. Keep going straight until you pass under the WDW arch, then take the third exit. Then make a left at the light (OKW would be straight ahead), after the turn POFQ is on the right.

Just to double check, when I leave the airport I get on the 528 (Beeline Expressway) and get off at exit 6 right after the second toll booth? That is the toll road right?

For WDW, it's much faster to take the 417 (Greenway Expressway) and get off at Exit 6 ... The Beeline is much more useful if you're going to Universal, and then you'd get off at I-4 (not sure about exit number)

Thanks! Now is it easy to find the 417 from the airport?

No, follow the south exit out of the airport to 417 south. Once on 417, you will go through 2 toll booths. Exit 6 is right after the second tollbooth.

If you take the north exit out of the airport, it will take you to 528 (beeline expressway), then you would then have to merge onto I-4 to get to the Disney exits. I'm not sure how the tolls work on 528 because we always take 417. There is never much traffic on 417. On the otherhand, I-4 is always crazy. Save yourself some headaches and take the south exit to 417.
