It's been 7 years since I've had banana-stuffed french toast and I can't go on any longer! :D

In years past PS weren't a must for breakfast........but we'd usually get there as they opened and then head to MK for the day. This time we'd probably get there around 9:30 since it won't be a park day. I don't mind waiting for a table but not too long.

I'd appreciate some recent experiences and also their breakfast hours.

We ate there in early April. They were busy but taking walk-ins. We had a ps just in case. Sunday AM seemed to be the busiest day. The food was wonderful!! DH enjoyed having real coffee.

For some reason they never seem to be crowded when we are there. DH always laughs at me and says hes so glad we booked at 90 days out. ;) If you know you definitely want to eat there and what time you want I would make a PS. Id rather have that than take a chance. However like I said, we have never really "needed" our PSs there.
Have some Tonga Toast for me. :D

Thanks for the info. Do you remember the breakfast hours?

We didn't have a PS on Tuesday morning around 8am and we were seated right away. There were very few people there, actually.

We have PS for our upcoming trip, but we are a group of 5. Last time we went it was on a Sunday and we had to wait 45 min without a PS. It may just be a weekend requirement. I love the food, but hate to wait 45 min to seat for breakfast.

We went last year the 2nd week of December on a Sunday - made a PS for 10:20 am - didn't think we would need one either, but decided to be safe - VERY GLAD WE DID. It rained that day and I believe everyone at the Polynesian changed their plans and decided to eat there - still waited about 30-45 minutes - BUT WE DID EAT. Better to be safe !!

ENJOY WHATEVER YOU DECIDE !!

I think it's kind of hard to predict the crowd at Kona.

We've walked right in without a PS some days, and have had a 45 minute or more wait on other days.

I like to make a PS just to be assured of getting in with a minimal wait... often, I'll call and make a breakfast PS the evening before when we're on a really flexible schedule. (And we usually are!:sunny: )

The last couple of time I've been (last year) and this coming month, the earliest reservation is 7:30 a.m.

The "Cheesiest" in all the Land

Menu Choices Enjoyed: Unfortunately, we never got that far - please read on below.

We arrived ahead of time for our Christmas Eve PS in anticipation of our "park getaway lunch" from MK. For seven days we had enjoyed eating our way through some of the finest Disney had to offer. Imagine our surprise when a surly and rude hostess could not find our PS in the system. Instead we were grudgingly given a buzzer for a stand-by seating. This seemed extremely odd, as the only people in the area were a school of somewhat sour faced servers and the haughty hostess skulking around the entrance! Had we walked in on some surreal holiday stress-induced mutiny among the South Seas staff? We haltingly agreed to wait and used our time to freshen up for a much anticipated leisurely lunch. Ugh! The facilities were littered and dirty! Then the wait began - not a patron entered or left the eating establishment during our twenty-minute wait. A wait in what can only be described as “the cheesiest lounge area in all of Mickeydom.” After a wonderful week of superior service and fine food in tastefully themed Disney restaurants we were beyond disappointed - flabbergasted perhaps! This meal was to have been our farewell memory – our big finale’?? I refused for this to be the memory we took home after such anticipation and care given to endless planning for the perfect trip. We returned our buzzer to the hostess who seemed puzzled as to why we did not wish to wait for a second helping of the seasickness she had induced upon our arrival. We shall return in June to see if warmer weather hopeful improves attitudes and the atmosphere at the Kona. Meanwhile our second choice was a much appreciated hospitable welcome by a pleasant hostess to the Grand Floridian Café’. All without a PS or a wait on Christmas Eve! A gracious and attentive server paced our memorable and savory meal perfectly. Yes, this was the Disney we had come to know and appreciate!

Pros: Leaving a haughty hostess with her mouth gaping open.

Cons: attitute, atmosphere and cleanliness

Yes, this was a nasty experience! But we will be giving it a second chance in just over 35 days. We hope to have smooth sailing this time. Even Disney has an occassional bad day or makes poor CM choices.
