I have a split stay coming up in 2 weeks and have received 2 sets of magic bands.
do we need both sets?
can we use the same one the whole stay?

i've gotten conflicting answers from disney customer service.

You can alternate use of them. We have several in different colors and my daughter loves to coordinate with her outfit (fashionita doesn't even begin to explain her, lol). They are good from trip to trip too, so save them and bring them back next trip to use again.

the customer rep who told me we had to use both sets said it's because they unlock our hotel rooms and would be programmed only for a certain hotel..so if i wanted to use the same one for the whole trip could i get it to unlock the room in both hotels?

also, can you shower/ swim with them on?

This is incorrect. We did a split stay in June at OKW and VWL. We were able to interchange bands and they worked at either resort to open the rooms.

You can also swim with them no problem. This was personally tested several times on our trip.

I'd still bring the other set. Just in case one dies or breaks or otherwise malfunctions.
