Do I need ADR's in January?

We have never booked advance dining before, and I was curious do we really need ADR's in January? I already have my list of restaurants. We have never had any problems getting seated before but after reading all these ADR ressies I'm getting worried. If we do need to book ressies, when do we need to have it done by? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I would say yes. At least that's what was suggested to me, so I've been making them. On a couple occasions, we had the last booking left or only had a couple of time slots. I wouldn't chance it if you really have your heart set on a place. :flower:

I made ADRs for Le Cellier, Ohana, and Boma so far. I might make one for Artiste Point, too. I just haven't finished deciding all our places and when we should go.

I'm going in Jan and this is my first time having to make ADR's as well. I was told I really should though just in case and if it's not busy I don't always have to stick to them. I made one for each day of my trip except for the nite I arrive and the day I leave. Either lunch or dinner each of the rest of the days, it eased my worries a bit atleast even if I don't end up needing them.

You used to need PS arrangements at only a few meals during January, but based on how many people are reporting that there are no ADRs available for many meals, I'd say you'd better have them this year. It seems the allure of full-service dining is finally mainstream, and everyone wants to eat out these days.

I made my Jan 3-12 ADRs a couple days ago. Not only did I get all the restaurants I wanted (including popular stuff like Crystal Palace breakfast), but I got the exact times I had hoped for, too.

I like to have them - don't want to think/call/worry while I'm there. But as of a couple days ago, they sure weren't booked.

My advice is always --If there is someplace you have your heart set on eating, then yes make an ADR. It is better safe than sorry.
In your case you said you already have your list of restaurants determined. I would go ahead and make ADR's for them. You can always cancel if you decide to not keep it.
The Dining Plan has made Table Service meals far more popular and crowded than in past years. I would hate for you to be disappointed.

I'd say better safe than sorry. We planned almost all our meals and that helped us to get in an out and plan the rest of our day and make sure we weren't wasting time waiting 2 hours for dinner. Once we were there we did make a few changes to times and places, but overall it's just one less thing to think about once you're down there.

I just tried to book 50's Prime Time Cafe for 3 people on Monday, January 9. They are full - all day. No openings at lunch or dinner.
Get ADRs. Better safe than sorry.

Actually, they are closed Jan 9. They will be closed from Jan 4-28.

I think that Disney Dining is only set up to handle ADR's! I really do not think they plan to accept any walk-ups, I think they set up their staffing on the ADR's made.
