Do I miss anything by doing online check-in?

I have never done online check-in and am staying at Coronado Springs in a couple of weeks. I have never stayed there before but I remember checking in at other resorts they would physically hand you info on the resort (map, list of activities, etc.) and I'm wondering if all that is in the room already and i SHOULD skip the desk? Also, My daughter will be joining us late that night or the next day (she is on the reservation) and is driving her car -- when she goes to the guard shack to park, do they just know to add that charge to the room or do I need to let someone know in advance?

They didn’t hand me anything at POFQ a few weeks ago when I checked in in person. I had done online, but was early and so wanted to make sure everything was all set and leave my luggage with bell services. She told me that everything, including the map of the resort, is on the app.

I have NO idea how the car parking actually works- but I showed my ID at the guard shack, and the parking charges appeared on my bill when we left. They must assume that the car is there the whole time, unless you say that you’ve taken it back(?). But the charge for 5 days was correct, and we did not go in and out much.

The nice thing about online check in is that you might be able to skip the front desk and have your room number texted to you. We like to know our room number as soon as possible.

They don't leave the activity schedule in the rooms but there should be a stack of them somewhere in the lobby. If you need to have a map of your room location than you can ask at the front desk. Bell services can also tell you where your room is located if you have the room number. We have had to ask where our room is located many times.

The only thing that you will miss is waiting in line to check in and the abnormally long time it takes them to actually check someone in.

I really like on line check in. I've done it the last two times. Our room has been ready early so when we get there, we go straight to our room.

We used online check in when staying at the Contemporary last year. So happens our room was not ready when we arrived so we stopped at the front desk anyway. You certainly can stop at the front desk regardless of how you choose to check in. If there happens to be a long line and you already got the room text, you can stop there later and just go directly to your room.

You may miss the opportunity to waive housekeeping in favor of a gift card if that interests you. Unless they offer that option on the app? Not sure.

You get that option when you do online check in.

We are coming from the UK, so have to collect magic bands at the front desk.
I think I read you can use your phone to open the room door. So I planned on doing the online check in and get everyone to the room and either collect bands once settled or the next morning.

It is possible that they will not text you a room number because you don't have your magicbands in advance. You can complete online check in, but may still have to visit the front desk upon arrival.
