Do I keep my Sept vacation?

This is all great advice thanks everyone. I think we'll be ok. I just get al little freaked out. I def worry about rain a little bit but it wont ruin our trip. Hoping we get lucky and it just rains showers here and there and we don't get set in rain the entire week. That would be awful. But we will make due. I plan on getting to Rope drop for sure everyday and we will use our Fast passes late morning/afternoon and try and get additional ones!

I'm late to your thread and looks like you got what you needed, but I'm a September lover as well, particularly the time between Labor Day and when F&W starts. I went September 2014 and was scheduled to go September 2015 but the pushed back MNSSHP dates interfered with my plans so we ended up moving that trip to October (but I was still keeping an eye on the wait times during our original September dates just to see). As others have said you still have to tour smartly, but we found 2014 to be very pleasant crowd wise (note, that doesn't mean empty by any means), particularly at RD and the first few hours in the park.

Just watch for the Night of Joy and MNSSHP dates to be announced so you can plan accordingly if you need to. Have a great trip.

Thanks. Glad to hear you like that time of year. We are going the 9th through 18th. So the Friday after Labor day and before Food and Wine start so that will be good.

As someone who visits for 10 nights every January and September, I can say the biggest difference crowdwise between the two is sports and/or cheer groups in January. Although I didn't really have any big issues with crowds on my trip earlier this month, I did see a lot of youth groups in the parks (I would just head the opposite direction to avoid them). I usually see them in January but not so much in September. I still prefer January because I feel that cooler temperatures and lower humidity make the crowds and the lines much more bearable. But when I manage to dodge the youth groups in January, then the crowds are very similar between the two.

One thing to keep in mind if anyone is thinking of scheduling FP+ for later in the day, particularly for evening parades and fireworks, is that you can't get additional FP+ in the parks until those original three are used. So it's kind of like only having two FP+ for rides instead of three or more. It's all about priorities - if the parade or fireworks is a higher priority than having additional FP+ for rides, go for it. Personally, I like not being squeezed like a sardine for Wishes, but your priority may be different. It's not such a big deal in slower seasons, but sometimes having those three for the popular attractions means a lot of time saved. I usually try to book my first three between maybe 11:00 and 2:00ish, so I can utilize the lower crowds first thing in the day, but still have flexibility to add one or two later in the day as well.
