Do I have to buy in DW/DL?

Can I buy into the DVC over the phone/fax? Surely I don't have to fly down there to purchase this, right?
Do I get any incentives for purchasing it while I'm in Disney? Our trip isn't until October and I feel like if we wait until then we'll lose the 1600.00 incentive they're offering right now.
We just put in a request to be called at the beginning of the week. We were kind of hoping we could purchase fairly soon if we finally decide to do it (been talking about it for like 5 years now).

As long as your state allows it then Yes you can call in to buy.

We ended up doing the same thing. We had a tour planned but the promo at the time was getting rumore of expiring so we just called like 3 weeks before we went. All went great.

I think the only thing you may get for being on-sight is a few fastpasses and an icecream

If it turns out you cannot purchase from your home state, you may find it possible to purchase a resale that way. Just food for thought in case you need an alternative!

Once you purchase, how long is it before you can start using the points and/or the perks?

Once you purchase, how long is it before you can start using the points and/or the perks?

If you purchase direct from Disney, you'll be in the system right away, and can start booking and using perks right away (Although I would allow 3 days just to be on the safe side.)

If buying resale, you're looking at a month or more, given that the whole purchasing process takes longer, and Disney doesn't enter you into te system until it is a "done deal."
