Do I Have This Right?

I am going to call today to see what kind of availability there is for next June. DH isn't a huge fan of Disney, but I am hoping that he will be willing to go on another trip next summer. If there happens to be availability for a difficult room (i.e. AKV value/concierge, BWV std) and I make the reservation now, I can cancel as late as May 1 (for early June) without penalty, correct? Also, I have a Feb UY so I will still be able to bank all of those points too, right? I just don't want to lose any points. Oh, and FWIW, no points will be borrowed.

That is correct....you can cancel a reservation up to 31 days before departure with out losing your points. Also with a Feb UY you will have plenty of time to bank.

Well, as I figured, the AKV concierge studio was not available...but I was able to get a 1BR Value!

I ran all my numbers and we should have it in the budget to go next year. Now, I just have to convince DH to go. I would have liked to try out Kidani, but we could either do the value 1BR or a SV studio (or concierge studio if available). I think I will like the extra space in the 1BR. Also, we're planning on only doing the CS dining plan so it will be nice to be in the same building as Mara. I LOVED their baked chicken!

I love the idea that I can book this room now and then take the next 6 months to plan. If the budget takes a hit, I can always cancel without a problem. The 1BR will also be nice if DH decides not to go. Then I can take a friend (again) and we won't have to share a room!
