Do I have any chance waitlisting for F&W studio??

I'm new to DVC. I assume you can't just waitlist a category, you have to give them a resort as well?? Assuming that I should waitlist for SSR?

My kids have fall break 10/6-10/10 and I would love to work in a quick trip home. MNSSHP is my absolute favorite. I would be willing to take either studio or 1 br.

Any chance it will open up or should I just forget about it & go to the beach?

yep.

1BRs are often the last to go (since they allow the same occupancy as studios but higher pt costs) so waitlisting a 1BR at SSR isn't completely impossible.

also waitlisting a studio at SSR or a 1BR at OKW (or maybe AKV) would also be worth a shot. might want to call MS once a week or so just to make sure nothing has opened up.

You probably know that you can have two active waitlists. So yes, your best bet is to get on one list for a studio and one for a 1 BR, both at SSR. I think you have a good chance, if you are flexible and can wait as long as one week out.

That's a bad week...I called two months ago, nothing for the 10 or 11' due to veterans day. We are at the pop those two nights, then a week in a studio at OKW. Didn't want to waitlist as we needed to get airline tickets.

We just waitlisted 2 weeks ago at BCV for a 1 bedroom (right next to Food and Wine, BTW), and just got our waitlist today for 10/25-10/29! I'd say go for it - and call every day. I hadn't been doing that, I called on Wed randomly and there was no availability, the CM actually suggested I call often, as there appears to be a lag between when people cancel and when the system figures out the waitlist. Can't explain it, but it worked! Good luck!!

I would definitely wait list. Saratoga is a big resort and sometimes peoples plans change. Good Luck.

It's actually Columbus Day Weekend, but OP I would waitlist for a 1 bedroom at both SSR and OKW...I agree a 1 bedroom are the last to go. Good luck. Of course you can call regularly and try to book a part stay and waitlist for the rest. It's easier to get 1 or 2 days vs the entire stay.

Woo hoo!! Miracles of miracles I just got my 1 br SSR!!!! DH laughed at me for calling again this a.m. to check, but I was also going to start our waitlist and they had a 1br available for all 4 nights. We are headed down for Fall Break also our 1st stay at our home resort (we just joined in June) excited to explore the resort.

That's great news! Good for you! My DH doesn't get it, either, but he is always happy to go anyway, LOL.
