Hi all,

I would like to buy at VGC, AFAIK sales for non founder members will start on March 25.

Could I have a chance to but in it?

Is there a min. to add on?

When it will be open?

Thanks

I cannot say for certain that you'll be able to buy in, but it does seem that you will be able to if you are ready to purchase when the sales open to those outside of the founding member status on March 26th. The resort is small (only 50 units), and the demand very well may prove to be as high as rumored outside of the existing DVC base, as well as being the first DVC on the west coast. I've read lots of places about high demand, but in this economy that may or may not prove to be true. Personally if I were going to buy, I'd be lined up with a guide and ready to turn over the money or the downpayment at the earliest possible time just to ensure you get the points you'd like. There's no crystal ball to say that you will or won't - but I'd think it's better to be ready than not.

The minimum to add for an existing member is 100 points. I believe a new member would be 160 like the other resorts, but I could be mistaken. (This is what did it in for us - we wanted to only buy about 60 points, not 100 or more.)

The resort itself is scheduled to open sometime in November.

I believe you'll have a chance if you're ready to go on March 26th, I would contact your guide before hand to discuss which UY you want and how many points.

Good luck! Let us know when we get to say Welcome Home to the West Coast!

Just a further note that founders are being allowed to split their contracts as long as they add up to 100 and I'm on track to do this (60 & 65). My guide said he'd let me know if it wasn't going to be allowed. Non DVCers would have to buy the 160 mininum ( I bought a small resale to get around this)

Thanks for your answers. I have calculated the amount of points I would need to go every other year, I have found the point chart in another post here (thanks for that), but I would like to know about the annual dues, before buying. It will cost a lot of points for stay there, and Ok, I could pay for those points but I must know first how much I would pay yearly.

Can somebody tell me how much a point at GCV costs?

Annual dues will start at $3.82 per point. For 2009 I believe you'll only pay for one month of dues (Dec) as the resort doesn't open until Nov 30th.

Thanks..... what are the incentives for add-on 100 or more?

Matching developer points or a cruise..starting at 3 night and going up depending on number of points bought. I htink they were also offering the founders AP for 220 or over, but you had to pick them up.

We bought 220 last week and took 220 developer points(which we have already used to book a stay at the Grand concierge in June) and two premium annual passes which we must pick up by June at the resort. Love my DVC!
