Do I dare try to paint over wallpaper?

I would only paint over wallpaper if I was selling the house. Did that once.

Thanks to everyone!! I went ahead and painted over the wallpaper and it really looks GOOD!! There is one tiny seam about an inch off the baseboard that is loose, but other than that, we can't even SEE the seams!!

We will probably only be in this home for another year or so, and I am SO glad I did this! It was my first painting experience as well, so...yay, me! Thanks again for your suggestions!
