Do I count my five week old??

Hi all.....quick question. My husband and I are coming down to WDW in a few weeks with our five week old. Do I need to count her in our reservations?? I hope not as I scored a LeCellier for two for dinner. I just assumed that a little infant wouldn't count, but a friend told me otherwise. Thanks in advance!!!

yes- everyone counts.
youll need a space for your child, if youre at a table for 2 there wont be any space for them.
when making ADR's its all about the restaurant capacity and number of people allowed for health and safety.

I called Disney Dining and was told that i do not need to count her if she will be in a stroller or if I will be holding her. Uh oh.....I hope i don't run into a problem once I get there. I have a Lecellier ressie that cannot be modified.

They usually don't allow strollers in Le Cellier due to tight table spacing. The tables for 2 there are pretty tight.

right in the middle of the restaurant is a whole bank of 2-tops. right along side each other. there would be NO room for a stroller between them. (if someone tried to squeeze a stroller between the 2 tables, it would be very encroaching on the next 2 top.)

I have however, gotten lucky and, with a reservation for 2, received, once, a 4 top, and once, a booth like table (one chair, one bench seat) where there would have been room for an infant seat on the bench next to me.

generally, when a restaurant plans seating, they plan body space, not who will be eating. but you might get lucky.

Do you have a front pack or a sling? I LOVED my Ergo carrier when my #3 was tiny and he slept in it a lot. (Infant can sleep sideways in an Ergo, not only up and down.) It is great in restaurants because you can hold baby hands free and eat PLUS it does not take up any room at the table.

If do not think you need to cancel your ADRS or change to 3 people; Just know that there will not be space for stroller/ infant car seat etc. Honestly, with a 5 week old, I would not go to WDW without a front pack baby carrier. Lots of rides you could do without disturbing baby if you have one (Its a Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Pirates, etc or walk into the films in Epcot which do not allow strollers without waking baby.

Just bring her along. We have NEVER had a problem adding someone to an ADR... even at Le Cellier.

Technically, everyone should be in the reservation BUT, I really don't think they'll make a fuss if your "3rd" person is a little baby in a sling. The sling suggestion is great. At 5 weeks, they are pretty small and happy to hang out in a sling. I had a hotsling and it was a good place for naps.

I don't know if they've changed the layout of LeCellier since it has not become a Signature, but of they have not, it is a tight space. I currently can't picture where a stroller could be placed in a 2-person table without impacting neighbors and servers.

Whatever you do, don't cancel your ressie or sweat the 3rd person. I don't think they'll think it's a big deal.

Yes. You need to count every single person regardless of their age. Mostly due to fire codes. While '1' probably wouldn't make a difference; what if everyone didn't count their child under the age of 3? There would be a mad house and restaurants would not meet their fire codes. I would keep trying for a reservation for 3.

You really do need to count everyone, even tiny babies, when making your ADRs. I'm sorry, but the person who told you to just bring a stroller into Le Ceiller is crazy, as there is no room for strollers in that restaurant.

The best thing would be for a table for 3 or 4 to open up, and for your to change your ADR to reflect the correct number of people. If that doesn't work, show up for your ADR early, and explain your problem to the host or hostess. Hopefully they can seat you, but given that Le Ceiller is usually booked solid, you may have a bit of a wait. Or you could be horribly unlucky and not be seated.

Definitely keep checking, but I wouldn't cancel my reservation if I couldn't find something for three. Go to the restaurant early, explain the situation, and see if you can be seated. It probably won't be a big problem if she's in a sling.

OP, yes you need to count everyone. But since you can't change it, you most likely will still get in. We have been allowed to take the stroller in many times when dining with infants. Yes it will be tight, but they will do their best to accomodate you.

I wouldn't think about bringing a stroller in and we've always counted our infants in our ADR's....with that being said I'd put her in your wrap/sling for the meal. I don't see why they wouldn't let you in if you are only taking up 1 seat. When will you be going down? We will also be going in a few weeks as well

LilandVistma....we are going down on April 18th.....I am actually being induced Monday so my baby will be 5weeks and 6 days old when we arrive. Love your kids names.....we are naming our little one Lily!!!!

Agree with this. You should count her, but I wouldn't cancel. I really don't think they're going to turn you down at the door because of an infant. We've modified our numbers at the door several times and been fine.

agree. I wouldn't cancel, but don't count on usig the stroller as a seat. there is literally NO room between those tables for 2. I could lean over and cut my neighbor's meat!

As you've seen the answer is yes. They count everyone, regardless of age. It's not just a matter of space, but a person is a person for restaurant fire code capacity purposes. If you didn't include the baby, what you have to worry about is not if you can squeeze the baby in at the table, but whether or not the restaurant might be at fire code capacity when you show up. If it is, extra people won't be admitted.

Once you show up at the restaurant with a baby, you will be a party of three, not a party of two. They won't seat you at that two-top and I don't remember seeing strollers in the restaurant (it's a very small restaurant). If they don't turn you away, you'll have to wait until a table with capacity for three persons opens up.

This is completely incorrect and ANOTHER reason why I believe you cannot trust anything you are told by WDW-DINE. Use them ONLY to make reservations. If the restaurant is at capacity for fire codes when you arrive (it isn't likely but could happen) they will not let you in with the baby.

I think in general, the restaurants prefer keeping the strollers out, however, if there is room and the stroller isn't in the way, they might allow it. Sci fi let me bring my stroller in and keep it in the aisle next to our car because my DS was asleep and I didn't want to wake him. But you shouldn't count on using the stroller. I was also allowed to have it at the Wishes dessert party.
