Do I book the DLH for December?

Help!! I'm not sure what to do...we do have rooms booked at the HOJO, which is where we always stay, but I thought it would be awesome to surprise my daughter at the DLH for her secret bday trip this Dec 15-20.

For some reason, I'm sure I read here that the rooms would all be renovated by December. But, when I chatted with a cast member as I got ready to book tonight, he said to get a renovated room, we would need to choose preferred or concierge, which starts at almost $300 more.

I have to admit that $2500 for the room and park hoppers was quite enough already, and I really don't care to spend the extra $300. (I mean, I have to control the budget somewhere, and we still need plane tickets.)

So, do we go DLH and go with an unrenovated room for $2500, or switch to PP for $2200 total? I do love the HOJO, but I have to admit, we'd love to stay at the park itself this time...

If you have to pay $300 more you may as well just book at the Grand Californian and make it a real treat!

They are pretty far along on renovating the rooms. I think they would need a lot of delays to not be done in December. Looking at the exterior they are half way done with the last building.

That was the impression I had also, but he sounded as though the rooms themselves wouldn't all be done for several years????? Not just the restaurant additions, etc.

I don't think CM are supposed to give out exact dates on anything. For that matter I don't think many know. And it's possible you were talking to someone who has never been in the DLH.

Honestly they have one building left, they are working on 1/3 of the rooms left in thier old state. I think if you book an standard room now you will get a renovated room in the Fall because there won't be any old rooms left.

There may be constructions in the lobby, restaurants, pool or in front of the hotel entrance. But the rooms should be done.
