Do FP+ Kiosks still exist?

The local HS band is travelling to Orlando in May for a music contest and will be visiting WDW for a couple of days. The current plan is to hand out tickets as they exit the busses upon arrival.

Is there still a place for these kids to get 3 same day FPs after they enter the park? It's not ideal, but it may be their best option.

Yes, there’s a list on Post #7 from the FP+ FAQ sticky: https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/#post-55337501

there are a few Kiosks still around.
As above, get them set up with a MDE account, link the ticket to the account and they can get more FPs through the app. Much easier.

He's asked the band directors if they can have their tickets in advance but it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. I will have him set up an MDX account in advance though.

Yes absolutely set up the MDX account and do it all on the phone:thumbsup2

You still see people using the kiosks, we definitely noticed when we were there in December, including once when we couldn't connect to the wi-fi and we used one as well

Thanks for all of the advice here. The band directors relented and gave the kids their ticket numbers today. MDX account has been created and FPs are being booked as we speak. They will be at MK this Friday and Epcot on Saturday so I hope there are a few good choices left.

Next question - can he use one of his existing Magic Bands with this new MDX account or can those not be transferred between accounts?

It’s easiest to have him use his ticket rather than hassle with attempting to link his new MDX to yours to access his MB.

You’d have to go to his Profile in your MDX and invite him through the email account that he used for his own account in order to fully link up so he can use his linked MB.

Also remind him as soon as he scans the last (3rd) fp to snag another while they in line or exiting the ride.

When dd and Dh went a few years ago i booked for them from home. I knew what rides were preferred and which were a "no way" even if only thing available.

Also remind them to use mobile ordering. Set up a credit card in the app 1st before heading down there. DD and I will order our meal at any time we think of it and push the "we are here" button when we want it to be prepared. Then you get a text when its ready and there is a signed location where to pick up.

We will have our food eaten and notice others still waiting for their family to return with food.

It lists on dis site which restaurants participate. We do Cosmic rays and that is one of them.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just have him use the ticket and leave the MB at home. That sounds a lot easier for just a couple of days. I think he just wanted to show off with the MB.

Thanks for the tips. He's very familiar with refreshing and moving around FPs. We were there in June and were able to grab 10-12 good FPs each day. The band contest is at a ballroom in the Contemporary and is going to take out a good chunk of their MK day. He'll just have to plan around that. I told him not to expect to do as much as we can on a family trip.

I bet that will be fun. CR is such a cool resort .

All great advice here, and I think he has a bunch of knowledge as well. I can just hear the kids after their partial day at MK talking about what they have done. Your son will rattle off a list of all that he did (using his experience), and other kids will say they waited in line for Peter Pan all afternoon. They will be in awe of him!

One question, which you probably can't do anything about. How are they getting from the Contemporary to MK? If they are walking, and all leave at the same time, the person at the end of the group is going to have a long wait as everyone clears the single security check point on the walkway. If so, make sure he is at the beginning of the group. Alternately, would some kids be allowed to take the monorail (recognizing that it is going the 'wrong' way) just to separate the security check points?

They have a shuttle system in place to get the kids to the performance venue.

There are 5 separate performance groups, so they’ll Be taking about 50-60 at a time.

This should be easy. Going to a road football game takes 11 school busses and 2 semi trucks.

He was very surprised to get Friday morning FPs for Space Mtn, Splash Mtn and Pirates. The last I heard, he was showing his buddies how to do it and was seeing if they could get overlapping times. The youngster learned well.

You have taught him well, Master.
