Do Fantasmic showtimes ever change a week out?

We are going to HS on Friday 12/6 and the second showing of Fantasmic is scheduled for 9 pm. Is there any chance it will get pushed back to 9:30 less than two weeks out? I don’t see any more 9:30 pm showings on the calendar until New Year’s Eve and onwards. We will have arrived in the park around 3:30 pm and we have an ambitious wishlist:

- 3:45 - 50s Prime Time
- 5:30 - Savi’s lightsaber build
- Smuggler’s Run
- Rise of the Resistance
- 7:50 - Oga’s Cantina - I scheduled this because I want all our Star Wars things clustered together. I might cancel because it seems like it would be cutting things close. I have a backup for the following morning at 10:45 am but don’t know if I want to drink that early, 😅. If Rise runs long, are they at all flexible on the no-show fee if you go up and politely explain why you couldn’t make the reservation?

A 9:30 Fantasmic would give us a bit of breathing room especially if I cancel or push back Oga’s. But I don’t know if that’s likely at this point. I’m wondering if something is going on operationally with the parks between crowds, running Jollywood, and other holiday entertainment that makes 9:30 pm shows in December impossible. Any thoughts?

Disney puts out a calendar for the shows for each park. I would Google Hollywood Studios Calendar and you can select a specific date.

I’ve had schedule conflicts like this in the past and what we did is show up to podium at some point earlier in the day and let them know we might be a bit late. Then they note it in system and tell you coming late could potentially mean needing to wait a little longer to be seated.

It’s a common thing really… and WDW doesn’t run table seating the way most restaurants do. WDW doesn’t hold specific tables for any one party, they just basically have a head count per hour and seat them on the fly as needed. And the way WDW works with non-dining paid reservations, it oftens causes issues with ADRs. Like your single pass ride can go down then the only time that day you have to get on overlaps with your ADR, and the restaurants operate in a way that can just roll with that on a massive scale lol.
