Do Epcot resorts sell out during Disney Marathon ?

We want to stay at the Beach Club the weekend of the DIsney marathon 1/7. Historically, is room availability a problem during this time period (marathon). I hear tens of thousands of people come to Disney for these events.

I think the answer to this is yes... last year 24,000 people ran the half/full marathon on Sunday. This year they split them up, the half is on Saturday and the full is on Sunday. I haven't heard how many registrants they allowed for the races -- probably more than the 24,000 they had last year for both since they are on different days. Both races are completely full, registration closed a few weeks ago.
When I got my resort reservation about a month ago I believe Yacht and Beach club weren't available.

Does anyone know how many people Disney is registering for the races????
