Do Early Entry Days still exist?

Just read this about Early Entry Days:
"Early entry is now called the "Extra Magic Hour", this feature is for Disney Resort guests only and includes guests staying at the Walt Disney World Swan/Dolphin Hotels and the Hilton at Lake Buena Vista Hotel. The "Extra Magic Hour" will be one hour prior to the regularly scheduled park opening hours on specific dates."
Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes, the Early Magic Hour exists. I'm not sure which days for which parks off the top of my head, anyone else???

zyezye,

Early Entry is going strong. MK days are Sunday and Thursday, Epcot - Wednesday, MGM - Tuesday and Saturday, and AK - Monday and Friday. Remember that sometimes Disney will open the park even earlier than one hour before the official opening time. So if I'm staying on property and decide on an early entry park ("Extra Magic Hour"), I'll show up 75 to 80 minutes before the OOT and get in line at the entry turnstiles.

We leave Wed for 8 days. We will only be at Disney for 2 (not sure which days and which parks but definately MK). My SIL is really wanting to go on Thursday to MK. THis is an EE day. Since it is mid-sept will it be that much busier. What about going Fri, Sat, or Monday instead?? Thanks in advance.

Kathy--If you aren't staying on-site, you should go to MK on Friday or Monday. Since those are the days after EMH, they will be less crowded. Whatever you do, stay away from MK on Saturday.

Steve--Can you still get into the EMH park before 8 a.m.? I knew you could do that with the old Early Entry, but when I inquired about it on our last trip I was told EMH opens exactly one hour early.

Mk is definitely best on Friday, since many guests are in transit that day. We have had great success in the MK on Fridays, even in mid summer.

Only 2 days in WDW?

swilphil,

Disney seems to be opening the park for EMH right at 8 a.m. as you said. Recently, I arrived for MK EMH at about 7:40 a.m. and most turnstiles had people lined up about 10 to 15 deep. As one of my real pleasures at WDW is to participate in the dashes at park opening (the Space Mountain dash for the EMH and then the Splash Mountain dash at 9 a.m.), I like to be close to the front of a line at the turnstiles so I can walk fast or jog to Space Mountain. Also, Disney would open the park early in the past (15 to 30 minutes before the EE time) for the previous Early Entry program if they expected a large turnout for the morning (if the resorts were filled). I wouldn't be surprised if Disney resumes this at some point if EMH is a big hit.

Yep, this wasn't a planned trip. My MIL wanted to take my son and due to multiple food allergies we decided only way for him to go was for me to go also. MIL is only wanting to go 1 day, talked SIL into a second day. Would love to get a 4 day PH but can't afford to buy one for SIL too since this wasn't a planned trip and with a new baby funds are tight. She doesn't seem interested in doing it herself(she has no kids). So, 2 is better than 0 :) Not comfortable taking 2-2 year olds by myself.
