a discount when they pay cash for a room instead of using points? I thought I read this a couple of days ago but I can't find it again. We are going back in January and are thinking of paying cash instead of getting using points if we can get a good deal. Does anyone know if there is a discount?

I don't think DVC members get a discount. AP holders get discounts.

DVC members can call member services and if they have rooms in the DVC resort inventory for the dates you are looking for you can book them at a 25% discount. Good luck!

Plus they have to reasonably expect that the rooms will not be booked on points for anyone in order to allow you to pay cash for the room through MS and get the discount. So if it is a busy time, cash nights with a discount will not be available through DVC.

If you book through MS, you should be able to get the dining plan without purchasing tickets. If you book through CRO, you will have to purchase tickets and pay rack rate.
