Do Downtown Disney Buses Go To The Parks?

I am staying at Courtyard By Marriot and I would like to know if Disney Buses will transport you to the parks or not. The hotel has its own transportation, but I was thinking Disney's might be more reliable.

Thanks for the help.

The Hotels within Hotel Plaza Blvd used to use Disney Transport for thier transportation to and from the parks. However, awhile ago, they decided to go the cheaper alternative, and go with an outside company, Fleetwood (dba: Bethany). Thier busses will run every 30 minutes to and from the parks (and sometimes only once an hour during non-peak times). They always will use Lane 26 in each park. (MK is at the TTC)

The main reason that the Downtown Disney <--> TTC route was eliminated was because the bus was being filled up with Hotel Plaza guests trying to go back to thier room, rather than guests going to spend money at DTD.

Do you know if these buses are lift equipped or will I need to drive my own car? I am stuck at the Courtyard Mariott my next trip unless I can somehow snag a ressie onsite later at the last minute. No room at the Inn right now.

is the DTD <--> TTC bus route the only one that got eliminated?
i've still only got an old Oct 2001 Transportation Guide Map, so didn't know about this update. when did this happen?

the DTD buses still go to/from the WDW resorts, right?

Chip 'n Dale Express, if you check back in w/ this thread, could you also answer this question for me?:

how many different DTD <--> Resort bus routes are there, and which resorts share the same route?

hope it's not too complicated to explain...
thanks!

Most of the VanHool coaches that they use do indeed have a lift in the rear section of the coach. However, I have never seen one actually in use. They also have a special van that they use that is lift equipped. When you check into the Courtyard Mariott, I'm sure they'll be able to provide you with more detailed information.

Basically... this is what happened. In prior years, guests staying at the Co/Po/GF were forced to take the Monorail to the TTC and then switch to the DTD bus from there. This route was eliminated, and in its place, a direct bus that runs all day to the Co/Po/GF was added. There is also a direct bus from WL/FW:OD.

Downtown Disney provides direct transportation to and from *ALL* Disney Resorts. There are NO busses from DTD to any Disney theme park. However, there is a bus from the Studios to Pleasure Island that runs ONE WAY from 3pm until one hour after park close.

These are the resorts that share a single bus:

Wilderness Lodge & Fort Wilderness: Outpost Depot (Called the East)
Contemporary, Polynesian & Grand Floridian (Called the West)
Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach, and sometimes the Boardwalk
All-Star Resorts (Sports, Music, & Movies, not always in that order)
Port Orleans FQ & RS

The following resorts have seperate busses, but share a stop at DTD:

Animal Kingdom Lodge and Coronado Springs
Old Key West and Port Orleans

The only other major change is to the Fort Wilderness Internal Busses. In the past they had the Chip and the Dale... then they converted to the Boone and the Crockett. Now, we have moved onto a color system... the Blue/Orange, the Yellow, and the Purple.

The Yellow and the Purple busses remain inside the campground at all times, and just circle around. The Orange route goes up the center from the Outpost Depot to the Settlement Depot, then converts to a Blue, and moves onto Wilderness Lodge, and the TTC.

I hope all that made sense. It's hard to do without a map. The new internal system is actually quite easy.

Disney really likes to make things as easy as possible. As long as you READ THE SIGNS, it's easy as pie to find your way around WDW! :) (Unfortunetly, a lot of people do not follow my advise... *sigh*)
