Do DISForums bring you down?

See, this just confuses people. There is an assumption on here that "most" people never took advantage of FP in the first place. If so, who complained? And you keep making the statement that the people (who didn't use FP) "complained....and they complained heavily". Where is that officially stated anywhere?:confused3

It's been posted ad nauseam on this board that people like facts and speculation is frowned upon. Can you show us anything where Disney stated that? Maybe there is something. If so, I must have missed it.

Disney executives have made it perfectly clear WHY they instituted FP+ in their shareholder meetings. It wasn't because people complained...and they complained heavily. Research their FB page...go back as far as you want. How many complaints do you see on there about being shut out of FP?

If I understand your argument that people who complain heavily will get their way, then what am I doing wrong? popcorn:: I mean, besides eating popcorn this late at night?

As to Facts just suffice it to say that when someone in the know about things Polynesian posted a DVC was coming there, at that time, there was NO official word about the project from Disney in fact they denied it heavily. But it was true.

Just because something is not shared in an official statement from Disney does not mean it is any less factual.

It's not just about people who complain, it's about numbers.

Disney only makes major changes for two reasons, money and guest feedback. Which go hand in hand.

You also have got to stop thinking that DISers represent the entire guest population for Disney, as they don't. In fact they don't even represent a very small percentage.

At least in terms of the parks, I'd add a third -- crowd management -- although I suppose it could be argued that they overlap. Part of the purpose of the Rapunzel Restroom area was to help open a bottleneck, for instance. Guys building highways study Disney's management of traffic patterns, because Disney spends a lot of time and thought on it and in that sense has done the research and found out how it works in action. FP+ will definitely give them a new and powerful tool on that front, always assuming they manage to work the IT kinks out.

Definitely, as that is part of guest feedback. I sometimes think some on here think the comments shared here are considered Guest Feedback. But to Disney they are not.

The majority of their feedback is survey generated.

That's probably true. Plus, the way they write the surveys they can get the answers they want.

Being honest its really hard for me as a casual Disney fan to understand what the fuss is all about. My kids are too young to be Commandos and we never really want to ride the same ride twice on the same day. I guess I don't really see the point of that. We did use the old FP system for 1-2 attractions a day. So I guess the new system is aimed at my demographic.

I've never done commando, only once in the past 5 years have we (when we went as family) used a FP and quite honestly we didn't mind waiting in line and making new friends :). I don't really get what the fuss is either :confused3.

Their surveys are heavily skewed to get the positive answers they want to hear. They are written that way on purpose.

And Orlando United, Micechat, WDWMagic, EasyWDW, Reddit, Disney's own FB page and so on. There are more than "10" people voicing their displeasure with this thing.

Where are the EasyWDW gripes? I don't usually read the forums there, but after poking around a bit I'm not seeing anything, and in the threads I opened, the negative comments were definitely more, "well, that aspect is a pain" than "Disney is BROKEN!"

Well of course there are, hundreds, even thousands, but Disney has millions of guests. On their Facebook page the likes to the Fastpass+ comments greatly outnumbered those commenting they did not like it.

They are always in the comments sections of his articles.

Oh, now those I do read, and seems to me that for everyone saying "I'm gutted by this" there's someone annoyingly chipper saying, "Works great with some planning, and that's what we are here, planners!" :p They pretty much balance our for me (I'd say the Dis skews negative). I would have summed up the overall mood there as "cautious optimism" even before MK FP+ walkaround he did last week.
