Do direct prices go up with no warning?

I seem to remember seeing something like, prices will go up on x date. But maybe I’m imagining that? We want to buy VGF and I know the current incentives end Aug 24, but the incentives aren’t great for us anyway. A price increase per point would hurt though. I’d like to wait a few more months.

Seems like we usually get a day or two notice. You'll have to stay on top of it.

Usually with resort in active sales, we will get some notice.

Sold out resorts have gone up without notice.

RIV has been going up yearly, around February so my guess is that $207 won’t go up until early 2023 but as mentioned, keep an eye out because just when you think you know, they change it up!

Follow the direct sales. The stronger they are the more likely they are to increase the price day to day.

While direct pricing for actively sold resorts go up annually, the final cost is really dependent on previous sales and the economy. We bought 250 RIV points in November 2021 for $175/point with incentives. They increased the price to $207 in February and in June 2022, we could have bought the same for $174. This was after a direct price increase. It really is the luck of the draw.

Why?

What if you could get your contract now, start using the points, and not pay most of it off for a few months?

If the contract is $50k ask them to do $3k down, $5k @30 days, $5k @60 days, remainder @90 days.

Now if you might wait as you will change your mind or worry about losing a job then yes hard stop just wait.

You can do that????

Yes, I did that. I bought in November and my final payment was in February. According to my Guide, it required "special approval" from the top. My Guide even called me right before the final payment was made to ask me if I wanted more points, because since the contract isn't officially closed, he can modify it for more points under the same November incentives. I was tempted...but enough was enough!
