I think I am a deluxe snob, I tried FQ and unfortunately I had alot of noise issues and won't go back. I have really enjoyed most of the Deluxe resorts I have stayed at but I have been thinking about trying CSR as part of a split stay next time I go to WDW. CSR is the only moderate I would like to try.I am wondering if anyone who usually stays at deluxe resorts has stayed at CSR and really liked it. It really looks like a nice resort. I know it is a convention resort but I am adult traveling solo and I don't think that would bother me. Deluxe fans please tell me how you feel about your stay at CSR!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!!!

We have stayed at both (Deluxe and CSR) as you can see by my signature below and have found that for the money the CSR is a pleasant resort. We feel it to be on the quiet side in the buildings where the rooms are housed. You must know that you will be doing a little more walking to get around then you would at a Deluxe resort. The pool is large and deck space is very generous. The grounds are beautiful.Depending when you are there the food court can be noisy. All and all its not a Deluxe but you will still feel comfortable. :thumbsup2

We've stayed at several of the deluxe resorts and we still go back (and plan to again June 2009) to CSR. We love everything about CSR and don't feel like we're giving up anything. Just a suggestion on noise issues, we ALWAYS travel with our alarm clock that has a variety of sounds to drown out noise and it works wonderfully for noisy neighbors!!! :goodvibes

I myself can be a deluxe snob too....so you have company : - )
But, I have stayed at CSR twice for work conventions...and I did think it was a nice hotel. The bar/lobby will get noisy if conventions are there, but I thought the food court had some good food. After staying at deluxes, you may find the room not as nice as some moderates, but it is clean and comfy. I think the grounds too are really pretty, and the above poster is correct - you'll do a little more walking than usual based on where you stay in your visit.

I've only stayed at the Contemporary and prefer CSR to it. Better pool/slide and transportation.

deluxe snob over here too! i have stayed at CSR and really like the resort. the resort is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. the kids loved the pool area. my biggest problems with the resort is how big it is. to refill our mugs just seemed like a chore everyday. one thing i do not like about many of the moderates is the many bus stops. i ruined many a pair of shoes walking across rain puddled parking lots at CSR. this is enough to keep me away especially going solo. just too overwhelming for me alone. i went to POFQ solo and the size of that resort worked much better.

all that being said....i am hitting a value for the 1st time with the kids this july. YIKES! i'm nervous but my budget just won't allow a deluxe this summer. i'm sure the kids will have a great time as usual and i'll adapt. wish me luck.

I think it can be "hit or miss". We had more noise problems at CSR than POFQ. There is also much more walking at CSR. If you will have a car, you can usually park closer to your room when at a moderate than a deluxe.

CSR has the best pool and is the prettiest of the moderates and has the best theming. THe only advantage FQ and Dixie landings has over csr is the boat to downtown disney but if you don't take advantage of that you are better off at CSR.

Thanks for all the great responses!!!!! I think I may stay at CSR for a couple of nights at the beginning of my trip since I love to resort hop. I 'll never know if I like it until I try it. It really does look like a beautiful resort.:)

Looks like you have already decided, but I agree with most everyone else here. I'm a deluxe snob too (we have DVC and REALLY miss kitchens now if we stay in a regular room), but last year we got free room and tickets from my husband's job, and that's where we had to stay. We LOVED it. Maybe because it was free, but we tried CBR four months later and found it didn't compare. The grounds at CSR are lovely, making the long walks worth it.

Definitely give it a try!

We have only been to WDW once and stayed at AKL. February of 2009 we are going back and taking my parents since they've never been. We plan on staying at CSR. Hopefully we'll love it like we loved AKL!

I loved my stay at CSR and have had not been able to get ressies since.

We most recently stayed at the POLY and I must say that dollar for dollar the CSR is a FAR BETTER deal than any of the deluxes.

I have usually stayed at Deluxes with my family, but when I went with my girlfriends we stayed at CSR. We all loved it and would definitely stay there again, however my family and I are trying the Poly for the first time in March.

CSR is a moderate but has some great deluxe features like the spa, salon, fitness center, and full menu room service but it's only a mod price.
