This is so weird, you know I have always heard that deaths come in 3.....I can't pinpoint exactly who or when but a few years back this happened and I thought about the old saying....

Well a week ago one of my dad's best friends who he was in Vietnam with passed away. The very next day my great aunt passed away so I thought well death comes in three.....and to be honest it scared me a little. So sure enough this morning the doorbell rang at 7a.m. and it was my 1st cousin...his mother (my aunt) passed away unexpectedly at 3 am this morning.

Its just weird!

Sorry for the morbid post but its just strange!

First I am so sorry that you lost your Aunt - You and your family will be in my thoughts and prays.

I have worked as a RN for a number of years - and yes from my experience deaths do seem to come in threes. But when you lose someone you love it doesn't matter it still hurts.

I am also sorry about your aunt.

I had heard this many years ago and haven't put much faith in it being true....but I know that when my Dad died he was the third one to pass away in 3 years time. Always an immediate family member and always in the summer months. After the 2nd death, we dreaded the upcoming summer because we were just waiting for the 3rd to occur.

Just recently, my aunt passed away. Two weeks after that both my FIL and cousin passed away on the same day. Kind of made me wonder again about the 3 thing.

I've also heard that bad things (not necessarily death) come in 3 too. When my DB passed away, it was at the same time 2 other terrible events happened in our family.

So, who knows. I didn't really answer your question, did I?

I am so sorry about your Aunt. I've always heard that it's not only deaths, but anything happens in threes. This can be good or bad.

Some people say that bad things happen in threes, but I am not sure I believe it or not. I've had bad stand alone things and bad things happen in groups bigger than three. That aside, I am so sorry to hear about your Aunt :( {{hugs}}

My grandmother believed this so strongly that she wouldn't rest until the third death had happened. It didn't have to be an immediate family member. Then she woud say, ok, three deaths, now I don't have to worry any more. As a side note, 4 members of my immediate close family have died on St. Patty's day. My one aunt won't celebrate the holiday any more. This year everybody was not looking forward to St. Patty's day. But my thought was we are an Irish Catholic family and all but one of the relatives were older, and the middle aged one was in poor health. It was my grandmother's favorite holiday and I don't think she would think it sad to die on St. Patty's day. My one aunt died on St. Patty's day in her recliner with a beer in her hand. Not a bad way to go.

Isn't that all weird, thank you for your condolances, my aunt that passed away has also been sick for some time, she had infazema (I know I sp that wrong) and never would stop smoking.

Well its nice to know good things are supposed to happen in threes......I am painting my master bath and started this morning. I was DREADING removing the wallpaper and got up and took a little bitty piece that was loose and pulled and it came off so easily. It took me maybe 15 minutes to remove the entire bathroom wallpaper!

So I'm ready for good number 2 and 3!
